Michael Rieber, MD, is a skilled orthopedic surgeon who offers conservative and minimally invasive care for patients at Orthopedics Unlimited in Livingston, New Jersey. Dr. Rieber always tries to find alternative treatments to surgery. When surgery is needed, he is proud to provide state-of-the-art arthroscopy and robotic surgery.
Dr. Rieber earned his medical degree from New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York. He went on to pursue further training through an orthopedic surgery residency at Albany Medical Center in Upstate New York. Dr. Rieber completed his sports medicine fellowship at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
In the early 2000s, Dr. Rieber realized there was a need for more surgical joint replacement treatments as he observed patients struggling to recover from broken hips. This insight led him to develop an institute that improves the overall experience of those who need a total joint replacement in the hospital. The changes recognized include pre-operative planning, better nurse-patient ratios, and a customized recovery experience.
Another patient-focused solution Dr. Rieber volunteered to implement was pioneering the breakthrough anesthetic drug Exparel during knee surgeries. The pain medication numbs the area where it was administered for up to three days, providing more comfort to the patient post-surgery. Dr. Rieber's patients claimed that their life had improved only a week after surgery because of greater mobility.
David N. Feldman, MD, is a highly respected, pioneering orthopedic surgeon who specializes in joint surgery. Dr. Feldman is delighted to be providing services to patients at Active Joints Orthopedics in Englewood, New Jersey, using the most up-to-date technologies and innovative techniques to optimize outcomes for patients.
Dr. Feldman is a leading practitioner in the field of orthopedic surgery and has long been an advocate of computer-assisted, minimally invasive hip and knee replacements using partial joint prosthetics and resurfacing techniques. His research into finding ways of extending the life of replacement hip joints led to the development of metal-on-metal hip replacement surgery at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center.
Among his research efforts, Dr. Feldman played a key role in the design of hip-resurfacing arthroplasties and undertook the role of the clinical investigator for two FDA hip-resurfacing trials that took place at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center and Holy Name Medical Center. Dr. Feldman specializes in customizing minimally invasive forms of surgery to suit his patients’ individual needs and always strives to reduce their recovery times by refining existing techniques.
Dr. Feldman has certification from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a fellow of both the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons. He is also a founder member of the Society for the Advancement of Blood Management.
Several honors have been bestowed on Dr. Feldman, including being named Castle Connolly Top Doctors for the New York metropolitan area from 2005-07; a Patient's Choice Award from 2008-09; and Home Care Bergen County’s Physician of the Year award in 1997.
