Welcome to Southwest Foot & Ankle

Nicholas Hugentobler, DPM, and the team at Southwest Foot & Ankle offer preventive care and comprehensive foot and ankle solutions to individuals living in and around Durango, Colorado, and Farmington, New Mexico. The compassionate team has extensive experience caring for the most complex of foot and ankle issues. 

Dr. Hugentobler realized that he wanted to be a podiatrist after developing shin splints while in college. His shin splints inhibited him from being able to run or play sports. However, after visiting with his uncle, who is also a podiatrist, Dr. Hugentobler was fitted for custom orthotics, which completely changed his life for the better. After seeing how his uncle helped him overcome his pain and discomfort, Dr. Hugentobler decided that he wanted to make a difference in people's lives in a similar manner. 

When patients first come to Southwest Foot & Ankle, Dr. Hugentobler sits down with them and gets to know them individually. His mission is to provide high-quality podiatry care by first educating his patients on their specific conditions. By offering patient-centered care, the team works directly with each patient to find the best treatment solutions for their specific needs. 

From providing wound care to minimally invasive surgical procedures, Southwest Foot & Ankle offers a full complement of podiatric solutions, including regenerative medicine. Dr. Hugentobler and the team can gather digital X-ray images right in the office, so patients can often get a thorough diagnosis on the spot. Plus, because the practice uses the most advanced technology available, patients can expect to receive effective treatments with little-to-no downtime.
