Blake Kimbrell, MD, is a board-certified otolaryngologist at ENT of Athens, providing complete ear, nose, and throat care to people of all ages living in Athens, Georgia.
Dr. Kimbrell was born and raised in Gainesville, Georgia. He began his professional pursuits at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, graduating Magna Cum Laude.
Following graduation, Dr. Kimbrell remained at Mercer and earned his medical degree from the Mercer University School of Medicine. He excelled in the program and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.
Before entering private practice, Dr. Kimbrell completed an otolaryngology residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia.
As an otolaryngologist, Dr. Kimbrell has special interests in adult and pediatric general ENT. He particularly enjoys treating thyroid and parathyroid disease, voice and swallowing disorders. Dr. Kimbrell also specializes in endoscopic sinus surgery and the surgical management of sleep apnea and head and neck cancer.
In his free time, Dr. Kimbrell serves as an assistant clinical professor at the Medical College of Georgia (MCG)/University of Georgia (UGA) Medical Partnership in the Department of Otolaryngology. Dr. Kimbrell also serves on the board of the Georgia Society of Otolaryngology. He also enjoys spending time with his wife, Ashlee Kimbrell, a doctor and colorectal surgeon, and their two children.

I would give Dr. Kimbrell 5 stars as he was wonderful and patient with my son today. My son had a pretty bad meltdown and he handled it so well. The nurses and other staff however made me very uncomfortable and didn’t do a thing to make him feel more comfortable. I don’t know if they are responsible for that but I heard them talking about us and I truly did my best to try to control the situation. Instead of perhaps helping the situation I felt that they were judgmental and not caring.

I know this might sound strange, but the doctor gave me that at home feeling along with the nurse. They both took great care of me and answered all of my questions. We are not done yet and I feel confident Dr. Kimball will take great care of me

He explained his diagnostic procedure and confidently informed me of his diagnosis and Rx recommendations. Most importantly, he has me following up to review the results. Dr. Kimbrell is a very knowledgeable doctor. Even with complex problems like I have been experiencing he stays with me the whole time until I'm finally able to be well. He is very effective with explaining what his care plan is and answers all questions that I might have. I would definitely suggest anyone to see him.
