A native of Tampa, Florida, Bridget Bellingar, DO, FACOFP, CMD, is the board-certified family medicine physician at Dr. Bridget Bellingar DO & Associates, located in North Seminole, Florida. Dr. Bellingar takes a whole-person approach to care, treating adolescents from age 12 and men and women up to 65 and beyond.
Dr. Bellingar’s goal is to provide care focused on improving health and preventing illness by managing her patients’ total health, not just symptoms or disease.
After completing her medical training at Southeastern College of Osteopathic Medicine just outside Miami, Dr. Bellingar completed her intern training in many major medical disciplines, including internal medicine, surgery, and general practice, at Metropolitan General Hospital in Pinellas County, Florida; pediatrics at Jacksonville University Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida; and OB/GYN at Sun Coast Hospital in Largo, Florida.
Dr. Bellingar went on to complete her fellowship training at the American College of Osteopathic Family Medicine in Arlington, Illinois.
Dedicated to medicine and her profession, Dr. Bellingar has a Florida Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners license and holds board certification by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians. She is also an active member of many professional organizations, including the American Osteopathic Association, the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, and the Florida Society of the American College of Family Physicians.
In an effort to share her skills and knowledge with future physicians, Dr. Bellingar has received teaching appointments at medical facilities across the country, mentoring over 300 physicians in their training center.
Dr. Bellingar is proud to have received a Florida Board of Osteopathic Medicine appointment from then-Gov. Rick Scott in 2013. The appointment runs through 2019.
To better serve her diverse community, Dr. Bellingar also speaks German fluently.
