First, as background, I had an ACDF procedure 2.5 years ago (different surgeon), and one of two levels failed to fuse. The ACDF surgeon refused to perform any foramenotomies to release the pressure on the nerves to my shoulders aShow morend arms, claiming the ACDF would do the trick. However, the ACDF just made the pain/numbness in my neck, shoulders and arms so much worse; and it never eased up. I wished I'd never had the ACDF and did not trust any surgeon with a second chance at my neck. Yet, my doctor kept pressing me to consult with another surgeon, and I found Dr. Donnally completely by chance. He reviewed my imaging, explained what was causing the pain and how he could remedy the situation. I was scheduled for surgery two weeks later. Dr. Donnally did a traditional three-level cervical fusion and foramenotomies to fix the failed fusion and to relieve the pressure on the nerve roots. I won't lie, the first two weeks were really rough, though made worse by the fact that my body didn't react well to the pain meds. Once we found a pain med that worked for me, the healing process was much easier and I've progressively improved since. Within six weeks post surgery, the deep pain I'd had in my neck since the ACDF was completely gone. At four months post surgery, I was back in the gym and have regained muscle mass and strength in my shoulders, arms and hands. The change has been truly miraculous. I thank God for the healing and for helping us find Dr. Donnally. Dr. Donnally has great bedside manner and treats us with respect and kindness, as does his PA with whom we interacted prior to and after surgery. We were never made to feel as though my post-surgery complications were inconvenient or crazy. I would trust Dr. Donnally to treat my dearest family and friends and recommend him without any reservation.
I love Dr Donally. He truly cares about his patients. I came to him with so much pain and he found the time to accommodate me in a very short period of time. This is my second back surgery with him and I appreciated his prompt attention giving to me. I visited other local surgeons and I was very disappointed of their arrogance and actitud. This last one was a major surgery and I’m already walking and feeling much better. I truly think I’ll have my life back soon. I had pain 24|7 for the last 30 years but gradually the pain got so bad that there moments that I didn’t want to live anymore. Dr Donally did a fusion as he recommended and I can early say I going to be normal again. Don’t think twice visiting Dr Donally he is the best. He is dedicated to advancing the spinal community’s knowledge base through research and education. He continues to work with various scientific and product teams to identify modern techniques that will better diagnose spinal conditions and manage these pathologies.
A true local, Dr. Donnally graduated from Highland Park High School in Dallas and then earned Magna Cum Laude honors while at Southern Methodist University. While attending medical school at Texas Tech Health Science Center he graduated top of his class with a Distinction in Research. Dr. Donnally completed his Orthopaedic Surgery training at the University of Miami Hospital/Jackson Memorial Hospital. He continued his Spine Surgery training as a fellow at the world-renowned Rothman Institute in Philadelphia. He is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Omega Alpha honor societies.

I had my L4 & L5 fused together. This appointment was a follow-up. I was initially surprised that I met with the PA versus my surgeon, but the appointment went well. I arrived on time and I was seen with a few minutes after arriving. My sciatic nerve pain is gone, now I’m dealing with pain directly from the surgery in my lower back. I’ve learned that this new pain is expected, because of the muscle and other nerves in the area. Given more time, I’ve been told, this surgery site related pain will diminish and eventually go away.

Dr Donnally is a super nice guy. He was prepared with my information and explained in detail what needed to be done to correct my problem. I will schedule him to do my surgery. He uses the latest techniques which attracted me to him.
Dr. Rush has been my doctor for going on a year now. He is amazing. Dr. Donnally has a solution to remedy my issue. I am satisfied with his diagnosis and fully expect the treatment to give me back the function needed to resume the activiies that I have put on hold. I am looking forward to moving forward.
First is that I am 100% disabled Veteran, who uses the VA for major issues that stem from injuries while on active duty. I have had easily 30 MRI’s along with CATSCANS and X-Rays over the last 17 years. I can say not one VA doctor even brought up the PARS fracture found by Dr. Donnally by on the first MRI he saw. But a Bi-Lateral fracture in the L5, which causes so much pain. I am getting scheduled for surgery to fix this and will finalize this review. However he gets 5 stars for actually helping instead of just giving out Meds like you know who.

It was great. Was off of all pain meds in 4 days up and walking over a mile a day after surgery. Compared to what I was expecting this was a good experience. I would recommend everyone if you need back surgery go see these guys.
