My experience with Dr. Killebrew is usually great! During this visit, my experience was different. Dr. Killebrew came into the room asking was I and when did I become Pre-menopausal because she was not aware of that. I told her thShow moreat I thought she was joking and I proceeded to tell her that I was not, not that I am aware of and asked her why was she asking me that? She stated because it was written in my chart!! So I asked, who would write that in my chart because you're my Doctor? Then, her Nurse walked in and she asked her did she write that in my chart. The Nurse said yes and Dr. Killebrew asked why? She said I just thought the patient was pre-menopausal!! I almost became upset but I was able to keep my composure. Why would a Nurse just add some false information to a patient's file???? Needless to say, I am an African American woman and the Nurse was not and there are too many incidents where implicit bias and systemic racism occurs with African American women in healthcare. This could have affected any type of decision, behavior, or judgements pertaining to my health. I am going to request that another Nurse assists Dr. Killebrew during my visits going forward. My experience with Dr. Killebrew is that she is a good Doctor but I was disappointed with this visit and prayerfully, this will not happen again.
I was satisfied with Dr. Harris’ response to my crisis. I asked the aid who got me checked in if I could have some water as I was very upset and she said they didn’t have any. Then when she was asking me sensitive questions (date Show moreof last period and how many miscarriages I’d had) I would answer and she would challenge me. Then she would offer her corrected answer which was the same that I had previously stated. Also, Dr. Harris was examining me at length which was painful and I did not know what she was doing. I wish she would have informed me. Another suggestion is that when a patient is having a miscarriage and is very emotional, there should be a private room she could wait it. I was sitting in the waiting rooms hysterical with all of these pregnant woman, which wasn’t good for me or them. Lastly, I have been in so much pain over the weekend with this miscarriage and have no pain medication.
Elizabeth Killebrew, MD, FACOG, NCMP, CCD, is a senior partner and the president of Southern Crescent Women’s HealthCare. She’s also a talented gynecologist who’s been delivering babies and practicing pediatric and adolescent gynecology in the Southern Crescent since 1987. She currently sees patients at the practice’s locations in Fayetteville and Newnan, Georgia.
Dr. Killebrew graduated from a six-year BA/MD program at the University of Missouri in Columbia and went on to complete her internship and residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. She’s currently certified by the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists in hysteroscopy and advanced laparoscopic skills. Dr. Killebrew is also a (North American Menopause Society) NAMS-certified menopause practitioner and she recently passed the exam given by the American College of OB/GYN for focused practice care in Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology.
In her practice, Dr. Killebrew is highly skilled in performing minimally invasive gynecological surgery such as hysterectomies and myomectomies. She is passionate about helping women acheive optimal surgical outcomes with the least invasive surgery. Dr. Killebrew is a renowned practiioner for her abilities with the da Vinci® Surgical System, which is available at Piedmont Fayette Hospital in Fayette County, Georgia. She had the honor of performing the first robotic hysterectomy at Piedmont Fayette Hospital in 2010 and is very active in the specialty field of laparoscopic robotic surgery.

I had annual physical checkup. The visit was fine, but it’s very hard to get an appointment. Long waiting to be seen. Great customer service. Thank you all.

Dr. Killebrew is the best. She had done a review of my history and looked over additional information I had brought. She took the time to answer my questions and did not rush. She is very knowledgeable and thorough. I even had my daughter scheduled with her.
