Headed to PHO place for n Weatherford for a quart of bone broth. Best I have ever eaten! Nothing by mouth at MN. I am excited and a bit anxious about my gastric sleeve tomorrow afternoon. It will be here before I know it!

Much education on this visit-especially up to and including surgery. Ordered an abdominal binder for day of surgery. Began to pack my hospital bag. Will have my final abdominal ultrasound tomorrow morning and surgery on Thursday! I am hungry and I want to eat, but no food choice trumps a gastric sleeve!

I started my general pre-op diet 14 days before my surgery scheduled on 4/10/25. It took about 3 days for me to become most comfortable. I shopped for extracts: banana, strawberry, anise, almond, orange and lemon. Discovered my favorite is actually decaffeinated coffee in my Bariatric Advantage Vanilla! Almond, anise, and bananas are my favorite extracts and found it was best for me to mix my meal replacement shakes with 8-10 ounces of water, ice, 2 scoops of BA vanilla, and 1-1.5 tsp of extrac

He's thorough and explains everything to me, he doesn't RUSH my visits to where I forget to ask questions. He's very knowledgeable with the Bariatric WL surgery and after care. His staff is also amazing.
The ladies at the front desk are nice and caring and provide a real personal approach. Dr. Branes is honest and helpful and I feel safe under his care.

Went in for gastric bypass revision. Ended up getting a life changing turn for the best!!! My endo showed ulcers & infection. Dr. Barnes saved my life and changed it for the better! He really & truly cares & has a genuine heart ❤️ I can't recommend him enough!!!

Gregory Barnes, MD performs such a detailed lab and physical study when awaiting approval for the gastric sleeve. As testing is returned to his office, Dr. Barnes reviews results, discusses it with me, and assesses if further testing/studies are indicated. The books recommended by the psychologist reinforce teaching from Dr. Barnes. The MA in the office helps with scheduling, high protein meal substitutes, and vitamins in addition to obtaining weight, height, and walking the new patient through.
Dr. Barnes was very thorough. He wanted to make sure he had my entire medical history along with having more tests done to make sure surgery is what I need. I felt that he and his office staff really cared about my situation.
Consultation with Dr. Gregory Barnes was initially to see if I was a candidate for a gastric sleeve. During my medical review and assessment, Dr. Barnes determined that I am a candidate, but also discussed other options. He answered ALL my questions in a very positive manner and expanded our conversation to include pre- and post-op educational needs, nutrition, and expected results. Statistics were quite interesting. The office functions extremely well as a collaboration with great office staff.
