Dr. James Friedlander joined Nirvana Healthcare Management Services (NHMS) in 2021. He sees patients at 613 Park Avenue, East Orange, NJ location. Dr. Friedlander recalls a particularly gratifying experience: He was treating a patient with severe leg pain. A previous non-Nirvana physician had told the patient that her pain was caused by sciatica. However, Dr. Friedlander’s examination indicated that her condition was piriformis syndrome. After a brief course of osteopathic manipulation and simple stretching exercises, the patient was pain-free—without taking any medication. Summing up the results of his accurate diagnosis: “She called the office to tell me that I had helped her more than the half-dozen other doctors that had merely prescribed pain killers.”
