I was sick for about a week, I made an appointment and was able to see the nurse practitioner. She made sure the medication I received did not interact with my other medications that I am taking, in the past my cough doesn’t get bShow moreetter unless I take something with codeine. She told me that I couldn’t take codeine due to other medications. She gave me something else for my cough with one does I was able to sleep a lot better than I have been due to my coughing. I recently started seeing the doctor said this office and I am totally happy with their service, I give them five stars all the way
I feel so lucky to have Rena Kalter as my primary care provider. She is a caring, attentive and knowledgeable. I’ve been to numerous doctors of different specialities and she is by far the BEST! I’ve had so many unexplained symptoShow morems that greatly interfered with my quality of life for over a decade. Most doctors didn’t take the time to listen or dismissed my pain/symptoms. Rena was the only provider who listened and ordered right tests that led to my current diagnosis. Since my diagnosis I’ve improved so much because it’s being treated appropriately. She respects and appreciates the knowledge I have about my conditions. Rena Kalter is one in a million!
About Dr. Torno
Josephine Anne Torno, MD, DipABLM, is a board-certified physician in family medicine and lifestyle medicine at Prima Medicine in Fairfax and South Riding, Virginia. Dr. Torno has a particular interest in the management of chronic diseases such as hypertension and diabetes. Dr. Torno started her education in medicine in the Philippines. In 2009, she graduated from the University of Santo Tomas, Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, in Manila, the Philippines, as a Doctor of Medicine and Surgery.
She went on to complete a one-year internship at Philippine General Hospital, also in Manila, Philippines. Before coming to the US to continue her medical career, Dr. Torno worked as a research associate at the Philippine Pediatric Society, Inc. Dr. Torno then came to the US to complete her medical training at Wheeling Hospital, located in Wheeling, West Virginia. There she was a Family Medicine Resident from 2012 to 2015. She’s a member of both the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Virginia Academy of Family Physicians.

Great staff, great doctor, great experience!
Prima Medicine and Dr. Torno are amazing. My first appointment with her she took the time to go over my records, and discuss any health concerns I had during my physical. Great experience, would definitely recommend.

Dr. Torno shows patience and willingness to effectively communicate with me so that I can understand things that might seem obvious to a healthcare professional but not so much to a patient.

Receptionist did not correct me that I was 30 minutes early, so I waited in my room for 45 minutes before the Dr saw me

Doctor Torno was great however I was there for approximately 45 minutes trying to get an EKG period their computers were not operating and it it caused my appointment to last over 2 hours period I now have to come back for another appointment to get an EKG period

I had a great visit today for my yearly wellness exam! Check-in was quick and easy. I was seen by Dr. Torno on time. All of my questions and concerns were addressed. Dr. Torno is professional and personable. The ekg and bloodwork were gone immediately after the exam. Great experience!
