About Dr. Kara Villareal, MD

Kara Villareal, MD, FACS, is an accomplished board-certified doctor of medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons serving patients at Arizona Preferred Surgeons  in Glendale, Arizona.

Dr. Villareal is dedicated to providing patients with a safe and welcoming environment. Her mission is to earn the trust of her patients. She believes that healing is a collaborative effort  — surgeons and patients are in this experience together every minute of every day. 

Dr. Villareal earned her medical degree at the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Tuscon. She remained in Tuscon to complete her internship at Banner-University Medical Center Tucson, formerly University Medical Center, and the University of Arizona Medical Center University Medical Center.

She is certified by the American Board of Surgery and a Diplomat of the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Villareal is also an Associate of the Maricopa County Medical Society, Phoenix Surgical Society, and the Arizona Medical Association.

Her specialty areas include general surgery, minimally invasive surgery, colorectal surgery, breast surgery, endocrine surgery, robotic surgery, single incision gallbladder surgery, upper intestinal endoscopy and colonoscopy.
