My appointment wasn't rushed and I left feeling empowered in regard to my heShow morealth. The Local MD facility was small, but appeared clean and well kept. Kevin Tin, MD specializes in gastroenterology and holds certifications in several diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including esophagogastroduodenoscopy, colonoscopy, endoscopic ultrasound, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography, hemorrhoid treatment and capsule endoscopy.
Dr. Tin studied for his bachelor’s degree in health science at the State University of New York Stony Brook and earned his medical degree from the American University of Antigua College of Medicine. He completed his gastroenterology fellowships at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, and a fellowship in transplant hepatology at New York University Langone Health.
In addition to his medical qualifications, Dr. Tin has an MBA in health care administration from Plymouth State University in New Hampshire and an executive MBA from the Quantic School of Business and Technology in Washington, DC. He’s undertaken numerous gastrointestinal research projects, published multiple papers in peer-reviewed medical journals, and made many professional meeting and conference presentations.
Dr. Tin is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and holds board certification in gastroenterology, obesity medicine, and quality assurance. He is a member of many organizations, including the American Medical Association, The American College of Gastroenterology, The Chinese American Medical Society, and the American Gastrointestinal Association.
He also works with many medical organizations. Among his many roles, Dr. Tin is President of the Fujianese Medical Association of America, chief medical officer of gastroenterology at Doctorpedia, and a medical device consultant for Medtronic.
In his spare time, Dr. Tin enjoys cooking, sketching, photography, and playing sports — especially football and basketball. He speaks fluent English and Fujianese and conversational Cantonese and Mandarin.
