Dr. Koidahl was great. Never felt rush, had a great conversation. The nurse/nurse assistant was a very odd interaction. After she took my weight she asked me if I wanted to leave a urine sample. I responded "Do I need to? I can iShow moref that is needed" She then asked why I was in today, and when I responded annual checkup, she was said "no, that isn't needed". Then she took my bp, which was unusually high from my normal that I question if she took it right. She then asked again why I was in, asked me no further questions. Left to look for a room, then came back and told me to wait in the waiting room for a room. I waited another 5 minutes or so. It was just odd. I really felt like this women didn't know what was going on.
I’ve been seeing Dr. Koidahl for years and have nothing but positive things to say! She’s helped me through two pregnancies / postpartum periods, and has been my primary care practitioner before and between. I really appreciate heShow morer calm and supportive demeanor and her “realness.” She understands that life happens and different women have different comfort levels with things. Dr. Koidahl has very open and understanding conversations and can decipher what is black and white vs where there’s a bit of gray area. She also never makes me feel rushed out of the door - she’ll answer as many questions as I have and takes time for personal conversation.

Dr. Koidahl first thought about specializing in geriatrics, but that changed when she participated in the Rural Physician Assistance Program and did her OB/GYN rotation at Bemidji Hospital, now called Sanford Bemidji Medical Center.
“I was the only medical student there, so I got to assist with all the deliveries and surgeries,” she says, “I remember thinking, ‘This is by far the coolest thing in medicine.’ I knew it was what I wanted to do.”
In 2012 Dr. Koidahl traveled to the Philippines on a medical mission trip. They performed gynecologic surgeries 10 hours a day, in a hot operating room, with women lined up down the street. They made a massive difference in these people's lives, and they were so grateful. It was an incredibly rewarding experience.
Dr. Koidahl describes herself as a take-charge person but also calm in high-pressure situations and a good listener. She feels it’s essential to put yourself in your patient’s shoes and help make decisions that are best for them.
“Taking care of her and advocating for her led to my decision to become a doctor,” says Dr. Koidahl. “I wanted to be charged with people’s care. My grandma was one of the biggest influences in my life.”

After being a patient at this practice for over 43 years I just started seeing her last fall and am very happy to have her as my gynecologist.
