My visit with Dr. Anders was great! She asked me what I have been doing for my gut issues since my tests. She gave me good feedback on certain foods To avoid, and those which I still can eat, but in reduced quantities. Dr. Anders was great at explaining everything with the procedure I had. She also made me feel comfortable with knowing that my results came back showing that I was okay. Lisanne Anders, MD, is a gastroenterologist at Gastroenterology Associates of Fredericksburg, located in Fredericksburg and Stafford, Virginia. She joined the practice in September 2020.
Dr. Anders obtained her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Heidelberg, Germany, where she was selected for a bilateral exchange program with the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. Dr. Anders completed her internal medicine residency and gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Louisville School of Medicine.
Throughout her training, Dr. Anders received multiple awards for her research, including the Emerging Liver Scholar Research Award and the Resident Research Award. She also worked as Postdoctoral Research Scholar with the University of Louisville's Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology.
Dr. Anders is proficient in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including upper GI endoscopy (EGD); esophageal dilation; screening, surveillance, and diagnostic colonoscopy; and video capsule endoscopy. Dr. Anders also has special interest in the areas of gastrointestinal motility disorders and disorders of gut-brain interaction (DGBIs). She is versed in high-resolution esophageal manometry and anorectal manometry. She was chosen to participate in a clinical training program sponsored by the American Neurogastroenterology and Motility Society, where she focused on motility and DGBI disorders at the University of Michigan.
Dr. Anders is credentialed with most insurance plans and currently has medical staff privileges at Mary Washington Hospital, Stafford Hospital, and the Fredericksburg Endoscopy Center.
