I relocated from Illinois the end of June, with lower back pain, my right leg would go null at times , I was told to take physical theraphy, I was hurting so bad, one night, my husband and I looked up a spine doctor, took an urberShow more, not knowing he would change my life. I went he took tests and explained to me what was happening with my body and what needed to be done. I was not hearing about another operation having 2 knee replacement s and a left hip total replacement, HE really listen to what I was saying , and told me the next steps that I could do to help with pain.The week-end I thought about what he said I needed, I knew that it has to happen, I looked him up and read so many reviews about him, the things everyone said about him was the same why I felt about ,having someone really listen to you, I haven been here 4 months and some days. My Spinal Frusion Surgery was on the 27th of Octtober, today date is the 9th of November, I and pain free, it scary it happen so fast , I had an excellent team of 5 Doctors, that discuss with me their part in the surgery what to expect during, and after the surgery with me and my family, they were an Excellent Team ,today I went for my post doctor appointment ,X Ray's looked good ,leaving after my appointment it was about 3 or 4 others patients there., how amazing to see how happy we were about our sugery and the outcome not having any pain, They all say ,these Doctors are good, I am so glad the lord both me to Texas to give me a better knife at age 71, and them touching and healing so many souls that has and will come through their doors
Doctor Hennessy is one doctor that will do anything to get you fix with your neck as what was wrong with me. I have had 4 different doctors, work on my neck. When you talk to him about what’s is going with your neck, he would stShow moreart looking what is wrong. The best Dr. Hennessy would do is listen to you. He will go get a second opinion from another doctor if he had to. They have a great team that works together. Which to me is outstanding. He is the best I have seen. He will go beyond the call of duty to get it right. I have all the faith in the world in him. If you give him a chance you won’t be dissatisfied!!! You can tell he really care about you, and his staff dose the same. They are all great to work with. Thank y’all for all have done for me. Dr. Michael Hennessy is a native Texan through and through. He is privileged to be able to call himself a member of the Sons of the Republic of Texas, and he is proud to call Dallas, Texas his home.
Dr. Hennessy was born in Dallas to a family with three other siblings. He stayed in Dallas for his undergraduate education at Southern Methodist University. He majored in mathematics and graduated summa cum laude and valedictorian of his class. Dr. Hennessy then went on to Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington D.C. to obtain his medical degree. He graduated cum laude and then was drawn back to Texas when he matched an Orthopaedic surgery residency here locally at The University of Texas Southwestern. It was during his time at UTSW that he met his wife and eventual mother of their two children, Fallon.
After completing the rigorous training program at UTSW and Parkland Hospital, Dr. Hennessy decided to get a little bit more sunshine by completing his spine surgery fellowship under the guidance of Dr. Behrooz Akbarnia in San Diego, California. He knew he wanted to practice medicine back in Texas so he accepted his first position after training at a very well-known Orthopaedic surgery clinic in San Antonio, called The San Antonio Orthopaedic Group. After spending three years in San Antonio, Dr. Hennessy and his wife made the decision to return to his hometown of Dallas and he has been practicing at Texas Spine Consultants ever since. He is very honored to have the opportunity to practice medicine and serve the very community where he was raised.
Dr. Hennessy is a very accomplished spine surgeon for the treatment of all aspects of spine conditions. He has a special interest in minimally invasive techniques and he consults for several companies to help advance spine care. He has been recognized for his care of patients by being named Texas Monthly Super Doctors or Super Doctors Rising Stars every single year since the year 2014. He has also been awarded as one of D Magazine’s “D Best” doctors for 2020.
Dr. Hennessy is an American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery certified orthopedic surgeon and spinal surgeon and is presently a diplomate of the board. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery. He also is a member of the North American Spine Society, the Dallas County Medical Society, and the Texas Medical Association.
Dr. Hennessy wants nothing more than to take the utmost care of every single one of his patients in the most conservative and minimally invasive manner.

Dr Hennessy took the time to show me my xrays and MRI results and show me exactly what was happening with my spine and then went over extensive treatment options and recommendations. He was very nice and thorough. I appreciated the time he took and his expertise. Highly recommend.

I have been a patient of Dr. Hennessey's for almost 10 years now. He is very thorough in his assessment to understand exactly where and why you hurt. He is not the type of doctor to push surgery if it is not needed because he cares about you as a person. He is an amazing surgeon who explains everything in detail that is wrong and what he can do to help, and then follows up.
