Sometimes people just push us old people aside like we don’t count anymore but you all went out of your way to make me feel like you cared and still do I would highly recommend Show moreyou to anyone that has a problem physically. Overall Awesome---consistent with all visits. Doctors and other key HCPs are kind and expeditious--most conducive for busy schedules---while serious concerns were appropriately addressed with recommendations. Nurses are of the bShow moreest. The "Unsung Heroes" though are the reception team. They literally deal with all personalities and concerns regardless to the intensity with professionalism, daily---for little to no apprecuation. This staff was no appreciation. Each visit here I've witnessed their skillful navigation of multiple personalities without negativity or impatience shown to those of us who follow "apples"---truly exceptional and aligned across the crew. Narayan Dharel, MD, PhD, joined Gastroenterology Associates of Fredericksburg – which has locations in Fredericksburg and Stafford, Virginia – in July 2015 after completing a fellowship in gastroenterology and transplant hepatology at Virginia Commonwealth University.
Dr. Dharel completed his residency training at Cornell University affiliate Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in New York. Prior to moving to Virginia, he worked for four years as an attending physician at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Massachusetts General Hospital of Harvard Medical School at Boston.
Dr. Dharel is triple Board Certified in internal medicine, gastroenterology, and transplant hepatology. Dr. Dharel is proficient in the diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including EGD; esophageal dilation; screening, surveillance, and diagnostic colonoscopy; hemorrhoid banding; luminal stenting; video capsule endoscopy; and radiofrequency ablation (RFA) of Barrett's. His areas of interest include colon cancer screening and prevention, GERD, Barrett's, Fatty Liver/NASH, and other liver diseases.
Dr. Dharel has been deeply involved in scientific research, has presented in national and international meetings, received numerous awards, and has authored several original articles, reviews, and book chapters in the field of gastroenterology and hepatology. Dr. Dharel currently serves as the Medical Director of Endoscopy at Mary Washington Hospital and the Medical Director of the Fredericksburg Endoscopy Center in Fredericksburg. He is a visiting faculty member of Virginia Commonwealth University at the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition and also serves as a preceptor for the Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Dharel was recognized as one of the region's top gastroenterologists by Northern Virginia Magazine in 2020.
Dr. Dharel is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, American College of Gastroenterology, American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases.

Dr Dharel will give you all the time you need to explain your problem. He doesn't make you take unnecessary tests and he explain things in very easy to understand terms. I wish all doctors were as good as Dr Dharel.

Dr. Dharel was very thorough and explained the results of the procedure.
From Dr. Dharel to staff everything about having an Endoscopy was explained throughly. Nurses at the surgery center as well as all staff were very thoughtful and good at easing my anxiety. Would recommend this practice and my doctor to others.
