My 1st visit to Dr. O’Connor and I was very pleased. Very kind, professional and patient. She took a lot of time with me with my skin check. I also received Botox and filler during my visit. This is where her patience came inShow more :)… it was my first time having it there, so of course a bit nervous and had some recommendations for other issues. She gave me suggestions to do, and took her time to answer each question and did not rush me. Took her time during Botox and looked it over good. Said if I had issues, come back and see her. I just got it today and I know it’s going to be awesome results! I am excited to see total results and will continue to see Dr. O’Connor. I would also like to mention her Asst. there today, Heather, was great as well! Very friendly and professional! Front staff was very customer service and friendly. Clean atmosphere. Patricia O'Connor, MD, is one of the board-certified dermatologists practicing at Absolute Dermatology located in Glen Allen and Chesterfield, Virginia, practicing general and cosmetic dermatology.
Dr. O’Connor grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana, leaving to attend Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia, where she graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. Dr. O'Connor then earned her medical degree from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine, Medical College of Virginia, located in Richmond, Virginia. There, Dr. O'Connor also completed her internship in internal medicine and a residency in dermatology, serving as chief resident in her final year.
She only left Virginia during those 12 years of education to work in Brisbane, Australia, (the melanoma capital of the world) at the Queensland Institute of Medical Research in between her second and third years of medical school. Dr. O’Connor was awarded the Susan Millette scholarship for medical students interested in oncology largely in part because of this research related to cutaneous malignancies.
Today, Dr. O'Connor stays up to date with the latest advances in dermatology by maintaining her membership with the American Academy of Dermatology and is active in local associations, including the Virginia and Richmond Dermatology Societies.
At Absolute Dermatology & Skin Cancer Center, Dr. O'Connor treats a variety of dermatological conditions including acne, rosacea, psoriasis, skin disorders, actinic keratosis, basal cell carcinoma, melanoma, squamous cell carcinoma, warts, and much more. When not at work, Dr. O’Connor enjoys spending time with her husband, Jim, a pulmonary and critical care physician at VCU, their two young children, and corgi, Wallace.

My first skin cancer screening was a good experience. The staff was very informative and kind, they were thorough, and Dr. O’Connor and her PA were very professional and friendly. I had two spots taken for biopsy but I was comfortable and felt like I was in good hands the entire time.

I have seen Dr O'Connor 3 times and what always amazes me is that my time spent there is limited. I have yet to wait in the waiting room after the time of my appointment. All 3x that I have had procedures, I was out in my car in 15 minutes. Dr O'Connor wants to help and gets straight to the point of the issue. I love this office.

Excellent detailed exam, ample patient education, very attentive to questions and concerns. Agile about including appropriate biopsies and topical treatments in the exam, no avoidable separate procedural appointments. Efficient and completely pleasant office.

Examined after my wife. Same double team. Very efficient. Felt they addressed all issue except small, painful spot on back. Said would refer to another Doctor but forgot to tell me who, when and appointment possibilities.
Double team this visit. Very efficient working together. Some skin lesion not addressed aloud nor "frozen." Long wait for a quick visit. Still felt I was cared for.
