I found Dr Creese online and since he had so many great reviews, I wanted to give it a try. The experience from the start to finish was just excellent. They happened to have an opening since someone has just canceled and I was in Show moreluck since they are booked up for months to come. The Front desk lady was very nice and helpful even if it was her first week on the job, it felt like she has been there forever. They treated me like family, Dr Creese was very thorough examining my teeth and caught issues that my previous dentist missed. He was very patient, explained everything and gave me options. I was referred to a specialist the same day and I’m already scheduled for my next appointment to have the issue resolved. I feel lucky to find Dr Creese and look forward to returning to his practice in the near future.
How many patients who have a tooth extracted say, "It was a delight!" Call me crazy and some have, but Dr. Creese and his staff did a superior job removing my last wisdom tooth. He carefully assessed the roots of the tooth to ensuShow morere there would be no nerve damage, and removed the tooth so that the bone also was not impacted. I also appreciated Dr Creese's regular check-ins with me to be sure I was doing okay. Lastly, as we waited for x-rays to be developed (which he showed me and explained to me thoroughly, I enjoyed Dr. Creese's instruction of his hygienist about extraction techniques. It was simply for her edification and to build her dental knowledge. Dr. Creese performed the extraction, but it was nice to see him investing in his staff. BTW: Tracy, Dr. Creese's office manager is knowledgeable, helpful and kind. A great day at the dentist office.
About Dr. Creese
Richard Creese, DDS, has been serving the dental needs of patients from all over the Bay Area for over 20 years at his welcoming office in the Union Square neighborhood of San Francisco, California.
Having grown up in rural Michigan, Dr. Creese received his dental degree at the University of Michigan, a school continually ranked at the top of all U.S. Dental Schools. Prior to dental school, he studied chemistry and music at Central Michigan University.
Upon graduation from the University of Michigan, he received oral surgery training at the Melbourne Dental Hospital in Australia, where he was introduced to their minimally invasive extraction techniques. His extensive continuing education studies primarily focus on root canals (endodontics), dentures, and other facets of cosmetics dentistry.
Dr. Creese previously spent 15 years offering “crisis” dentistry through Potter Valley Community Health Center in rural Mendocino County. He worked weekends providing emergency dental care for toothaches, fractures, infections, as well as extractions and denture services.
Outside of the office, Dr. Creese enjoys playing tennis, golf, and snow skiing. When he does find time to slow down, he enjoys music, carpentry, antique clock repair, and tuning up and tooling around in a 1960 TR3 — the first car he ever owned!
Dr. Creese and his wife live in the West Portal district of San Francisco. He is an active member of the Olympic Club and Calvary Presbyterian Church.

Dr. Creese is retired but I’m going to share my experience anyway. My visit 6 months ago went well, however when I received a phone call from the dentist to whom I had been transferred, I was informed my insurance wouldn’t be accepted. No problem, I scheduled an appointment with a different dentist for a cleaning. A week ago, I went in for my regular check up and my new dentist discovered a large cavity in one of my back teeth, something that Dr. Creese most certainly would have caught six months ago. He said nothing about it. With retirement coming before my next planned visit, maybe he just wanted to make it someone else’s problem. You would think that someone with decades of experience would still feel the responsibility to inform his PATIENT of something like this.

The dentist I wished I had my whole life. Great hygiene care with proactive encouragement finally got me to take proper care of my teeth, and Dr. Creese has guided my course of care to deal with small problems while emphasizing gum care as I get older. I felt like a kid again, a kid that had eaten too much candy. I stop receiving competent dental care more than 10 years ago and struggled to find coverage and care but was absolutely overwhelmed by the care I received. Again, I remember as a kid my first time being terrified, then, feeling surprised, and then finally, relieved.
