I went in because my granddaughter kept bugging me about a thing on my leg. I received an appointment quickly, arrived and was checked in with no problem, and after a short wait was taken to a room. Dr. Anderson came in within mShow moreinutes, did a biopsy, told me since it hadn’t been there very long I should relax and I’d get a call either way. The biopsy was positive, according to an MA, and they were waiting for my insurance to approve a MOHS procedure. She explained what that was, what I could expect, and answered my questions patiently, with confidence and empathy. Approval received, I settled into a very adjustable and comfortable chair to be numbed up prior to the appearance of Doctor Hu. Her assistant had already sterilized the area and numbed me up a whole bunch, so everything was ready for the doctor. She explained she would remove a layer, take it to pathology to be cleared, and that’s it. It didn’t quite go that way, and the poor nurse practitioner was cauterizing for a very long time before she could bandage and take a break! This was repeated several times, which surprised Dr. Hu and myself. She asked questions about a condition I have that affects collagen production and can make wound healing and skin integrity issues in any surgery. Last slice before bone was clear and precautionary measures were taken to insure my ‘wound’ would heal correctly, without complications of any kind. She shared her disappointment it was so deep and also explained why she felt that was. I went back the next day for a ‘uniboot’ to improve healing, reduce risk of infection, and call it a day. She called me at home about 8:30 pm just to check in! I’m impressed every time I I need an appointment there with the knowledge, patience, and support of everyone from the reception desk to the surgeon, and would highly recommend Specialists in Dermatology for everyone, of any age or ethnicity, no matter the ease of severity of their issue. I arrived at the office 20 min. early and signed in and paid my copay. I was brought to a patient room and asked the normal questions and my blood pressure taken. The nurse prepped the area to be treated, numbed it and left aftShow moreer telling me she would inform the Doctor that I was ready. About 20 or 25 min. later the Doctor and a few observers entered, removed the cancerous spot in my forearm said good to see you and left me to be administered to by my nurse and one other assistant to take my specimen to the lab. I was taken to s patient waiting Rm. to wait for results. About 40 min. Slater I was escorted to another Rm. to have stitches administered to my open wound as my specimen was what they wanted. I was numbed up again and left with the Doctor will be in shortly speech. 20 min. later, the nurse popped in to check on things and I inquired as to the reason why no one had been there to stitch me up. She went to ask and returned with an assistant to perform the sutureing. The Doctor came in and kinda took over after 5 or 6 stitches and lengthened the incision so it could be closed properly and gave me back to the assistant to close. From the time the specimen was taken to the lab, and I was sent on my way, an hour and a half had gone by. I think there are s lot of assistants and only Dr. Hu trying to fit too many patients in to one day. Another thing is that I was to have two separate areas treated but was told I'd have to come back as insurance only pays for one office visit at a time. I live 45 min. away. An hour and a half round trip. 3 trips including having stitches removed for the last procedure.

On time…I especially liked the way everything was explained to me both by the girl who gave me the shots and the doctor herself who told me what she was doing and asked if I wanted to see in the mirror. The dr. Also sent a text later to see how I was feeling.

Dr. Wu is very thorough and while particular, she's really quick with excising the tissue she has to take. I was very impressed with her skill and keeping me aware and updated on all the procedures done for me. I am grateful that all went well and I believe it went well because she's good at what she does and uses her God given abilities to treat people with respect and care.
