The Phoenix & Dragon in Austin, Texas is a practice of acupuncture and oriental medicine operated by Sharon Shuppert, Dipl. OM, L.Ac. We are so glad you are considering our clinic for your naturopathic and eastern medical needs.
Sharon attended the Texas College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCTCM) where she earned her Master of Science degree in Oriental Medicine. The institution has been ranked among the top three Traditional Chinese Medicine colleges in the country. TCTCM received this designation by Traditional Chinese Medicine World, which is a national newspaper that focuses on informing both healthcare professionals and their clients about TCM. Sharon has earned the designation of Diplomate of Oriental Medicine and is also licensed by the Texas State Medical Board.
In 1995, Sharon discovered the possibilities of oriental medicine about battling persistent headaches for an entire year. Thanks to the use of Chinese herbs and acupuncture, Sharon’s headaches were alleviated and she became a believer. What’s more, oriental medicine functions holistically—bring healing to the mind, body, and spirit—trying TCM helped her restore balance to her whole body. Other bothersome health conditions such as allergies, fatigue, and premenstrual syndrome were also relieved with TCM. Seeing firsthand the possibilities of oriental medicine, Sharon forged a career out of introducing others to these amazing therapies.
Sharon is proud to have trained with Dr. Teh-Fu Tan, the grand master of acupuncture. She has incorporated Dr. Tan’s Balance Method into her repertoire of acupuncture services. When Sharon applies this method to her Austin area patients at The Phoenix & Dragon, they enjoy immediate positive results. Plus, repeated treatments have been shown to offer long-term relief from their ailments.
The Phoenix & Dragon is located in proximity to the University of Texas campus in Austin off of I-35 in the Medical Arts Square. There is off-street parking in front of the building for clients’ convenience. The clinic is decorated to resemble a Shanghai period sitting room for the ultimate in comfort and relaxation. Sharon completes her healing sessions with ease, taking the time to attend to the unique needs of each of her patients.
