Cindiraina Zhai is a NYS Licensed Acupuncturist and a trained Traditional Chinese Medicine Herbalist who is passionate about spreading the wisdom of Chinese Medicine and sharing with more people holistic ways to balancing their bodies and living in good health from the lens of TCM. She works side by side with clients together to promote an optimal environment for their body, mind and spirit to fully thrive. Cindiraina believes that the key to a balanced body and mind is to live in harmony with the seasons & cycles of nature around us, while also honoring our bodies internal cycles which may look different for all of us. She believes in the importance of learning to listen to the subtle messages of the body and developing an intimate understanding with the changes that happen within, so we may be a better caretaker for our own body and feel empowered in our health and our well being.
Cindiraina was born and raised in a small town in China called Kaifeng, Henan. Where Traditional Chinese Medicine is the primary form of healthcare. Being raised by her grandmother, from an early age, she was taught the importance of food, in particular organically grown, seasonal produce, for our health. And how the food we eat, and nourishment we give our body is one of the main contributing factors of a balanced body and mind. Her grandmother, being one of her first teachers, taught her how to grow and utilize traditional herbs to treat and heal different symptoms and diseases. Cindiraina’s early childhood experiences and her upbringing made a monumental imprint on why she chose to study and become a Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner.
Cindiraina is joining Dr. Rosanna De La Cruz as a part of the Riverdale Holistic Center team. She hopes that we can be a refuge to those seeking support for their healing. We are committed to assist you and walk along with you during your health journey.
Rosanna De La Cruz, DACM, L.Ac, is a holistic endocrinologist at Riverdale Holistic Center, an acupuncture practice located in Riverdale, New York. Her practice focuses on reproductive health, and she is a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine licensed in New York State.
Rosanna graduated from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine with a Bachelor of Science and a Master in Oriental Medicine degree and later pursued a Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, with a focus on integrative medicine.
Rosanna comes from a family of medical doctors, including her parents. Her mother is an internal doctor in Valencia, Spain, and her father is a primary care physician in the Dominican Republic. She completed her pre-med courses in the Dominican Republic.
When she had the opportunity to enroll in college in the USA; knowing the limitations and benefits of conventional medicine firsthand; she remembered an old saying in her country when someone was very sick, they would say, “Not even a Chinese doctor can save him/her.” She always knew that natural medicine was very effective and powerful. She chose to pursue a career where she could help her patients live a higher quality of life.
Rosanna worked for major corporations in many leadership positions for many years, where she has had the opportunity to escalate and be promoted several times and earn a 6-figure income.
However, while she was working in the corporate world, a family member was diagnosed with pre-cancerous cells in her cervix, and she did not have insurance; she relied on an acupuncturist to provide treatments every three days and after six months of treatments, she was free of cancerous cells. This, and her family’s medical history, inspired Rosanna to study Oriental Medicine.
She knows the natural state of our human body is healthy. Her mission is to “help her patients heal and live a life full of joy.” She is passionate about helping her patients achieve hormonal balance and pain relief and has treated thousands of patients suffering from hormonal imbalance, including thyroid disorders, PCOS, PMS, menopause, diabetes, endometriosis, difficulty conceiving, and chronic as well as acute pain.
She is fully committed to supporting your journey to a healthier lifestyle.
When Rosanna is not treating patients at her clinic, she enjoys spending time in nature walking and hiking. She loves reading, meditating, and spending time with her children – Isa and Ariana – and her friends and family.
