He completed his residency in internal medicine at the New York Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, New York, and his fellowship in gastroenterology at the Brooklyn Hospital Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Dr. Ibegbu earned his medical degree from the university of Nigeria and completed his internship, residency, and fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at the University of Florida Health Sciences center in Jacksonville, Florida. He also received advanced training in therapeutic endoscopy, including endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and endoscopic retrograde cholangio-pancreatography (ERCP).
Throughout his career, Dr. Ibegbu has published extensively in the field of gastroenterology. His work is featured in several peer-reviewed journals, including World Journal of Gastroenterology and The American Journal of Gastroenterology. He has also been involved in the training of many other physicians across the country, and he serves as the speaker for several medical device and pharmaceutical companies.
