T. Cristina Sardinha, MD, FACS, FASCRS, is a board-certified surgeon on the team at Progressive Surgical Care, an exceptional surgery practice with locations in Manhasset Hills in New Hyde Park and the Lindenwood area in Howard Beach, New York. She specializes in general surgery and colorectal surgery.

Dr. Sardinha was born, raised, educated, and trained in Brazil. She earned her medical degree from Bahian School of Medicine and Public Health and completed residencies in general and trauma surgery at the University of Sao Paulo, including working under the leadership of internationally renowned colorectal surgeon Dr. Angelita Habr-Gama.

Dr. Sardinha eventually relocated to the United States and completed a research fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic campus in Florida and a general surgery chief residency at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center in Queens, New York. She returned to the Cleveland Clinic in Florida for a clinical fellowship in colorectal surgery under the leadership of Dr. Steven Wexner.

Marc E. Sher, MD, FACS, FASCRS, is a board-certified general surgeon and colorectal surgeon on a team of providers at Progressive Surgical Care in Manhasset Hills, in New Hyde Park, in the Lindenwood area and Howard Beach, New York. Dr. Sher’s passion is surgery and particularly, colon and rectal surgery.

He served as president of the most prestigious surgical society in the country, “The New York Surgical Society” as well as the New York Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons.  His group offers specialized care in the treatment of general and colorectal surgical issues in Nassau and Queens county.

Dr. Sher is a New York City native who was born in Brooklyn and raised in Oceanside. He left New York to complete his undergraduate education at Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts and returned to earn his medical degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in 1990.

He completed an internship and his chief residency at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center in Queens in 1995 and finished his training with a clinical fellowship in colorectal surgery under the supervision of Dr. Steven Wexner at the Fort Lauderdale, Florida, campus of the prestigious Cleveland Clinic.

Dr. Sher is highly respected both nationally and internationally, with certifications by both the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery. He is an experienced laparoscopic surgeon performing in the top percentile of New York State. He’s also an active researcher in his field, authoring numerous articles, book chapters in respected publications such as “Annals of Surgery” and “Diseases of the Colon and Rectum.”

Dr. Bacigalupi is a clinical instructor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mt. Sinai in New York City, where he previously completed his procedural dermatology fellowship. Xenophon P. Xenophontos, MD, FACS, FSVS, is a fellowship-trained vascular surgeon and founder of a state-of-the-art adult vascular medicine practice in Garden City, New York, in Nassau County. Dr. Xenophontos is dual board-certified in general and vascular surgery.

Dr. Xenophontos began his journey to his medical career as an undergraduate student at The City College of New York in New York City, where he graduated with distinction. Dr. Xenophontos earned his medical degree at Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey, Pennsylvania. He rounded out his postdoctoral training with a surgery residency followed by a vascular surgery fellowship at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn, New York. 

Dr. Xenophontos, who is fluent in English and Greek, is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the board of directors of the Brooklyn and Long Island Chapter of the American College of Surgeons. Sang Jho, M.D., F.A.C.S. is a board-certified general surgeon who is experienced, competent, and compassionate in the care of his patients with a wide variety of surgical problems. Gary Nackman, MD, FACS, is a board-certified vascular surgeon with more than 25 years of experience helping women and men with venous disease and cosmetic concerns achieve healthy veins and skin. He founded the NJ Vein Care and Aesthetics Center in Clifton, New Jersey, to provide high-quality, one-on-one, patient-centered care in a welcoming, supportive environment. He's proud to be listed in the Consumers Research Council of America's "Guide to America's Top Surgeons."

Dr. Nackman graduated summa cum laude from Union College in Schenectady, New York, and earned his Medical Doctorate from Albany Medical College in Albany, New York, in 1988.  He completed his general surgery training at Columbia University, St. Luke' s-Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York City in 1994. He then went on to participate in a fellowship in vascular surgery at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire, in 1996.

Dr. Nackman has received national recognition for his NIH-funded, breakthrough scientific research. He's made numerous presentations at national and international conferences, authored textbook chapters and peer-reviewed articles, and co-authored a landmark scientific paper on how varicose veins degenerate. 

Certified by the American Board of Surgery in Vascular Surgery, Dr. Nackman is a member of several national and local societies, including the Society for Vascular Surgery, Association for Academic Surgery, Society of University Surgeons, and the Vascular Society of New Jersey. He was chair of clinical programs at the NJ Center for Biomaterials and has served as a consultant to industry.

Dr. Maryam Akbari attended University of Pennsylvania where she earned her DMD and MPH degrees (2014). She obtained her MD degree from Louisiana State University of Shreveport in 2018. She completed her oral and maxillofacial training at Mount Sinai Hospital in NY.  

Dr. Akbari practices a wide scope Oral and Maxillofacial surgery with a focus on trauma and orthognathic surgery.

Joseph Pober, MD, FACS, is a double fellowship-trained and double board-certified plastic surgeon performing procedures at his private practice on the Upper East Side of Manhattan in New York City. He uses the latest cosmetic surgery techniques and some noninvasive options to artfully smooth, tuck, or remove the features that indicate a patient's increasing age while enhancing any and all features of concern.

Dr. Pober earned his medical degree from the esteemed Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. He completed his general surgery and plastic surgery training at New York-Presbyterian Hospital of Columbia and Cornell University. Dr. Pober is one of the few plastic surgeons who has undergone advanced fellowship training in cosmetic surgery and facial sculpting beyond board certification. 

Dr. Pober served as an attending plastic surgeon performing surgery and training future plastic surgeons at several hospitals in the area, including St Luke's Roosevelt Medical Center of Columbia University Medical Center and Mount Sinai West in New York City. Sergei Dolgopolov, MD, is a founding partner at Lenox Hills Surgeons, LLP, located in the Lenox Hill area of Manhattan in New York City. 

In 1983, he graduated with honors and science awards from Sechenov Moscow Medical School. Dr. Dolgopolov started his surgical training as a resident in urology at Moscow Medical Academy Hospital Center and completed it with honors. 

He continued as a faculty member and attending physician urologist at Burdenko Central Military Hospital, where he had an extensive experience in clinical research and reconstructive surgery, helping wounded victims of war. 

Dr. Dolgopolov continued his surgical education as a resident and chief resident at SUNY Downstate Health Science Center and completed it with honors. 

After residency, he worked as a surgical attending and clinical assistant professor in general, minimally invasive, and trauma surgery at SUNY Downstate Health Science Center.

In 2000, Dr. Dolgopolov joined Surgical Associates of New York, LLP, which regrouped into General and Laparoscopic Surgeons of New York, LLP in 2012. 

Roman Grinberg, MD, is a board-certified general surgeon, specializing in minimally invasive, and robotic surgery. He is affiliated with Lenox Hill Hospital. Dr. Grinberg is a member of Lenox Hill Surgeons, LLP, located in the Lenox Hill area of Manhattan in New York City.

Dr. Grinberg received his medical degree from Russian State Medical  University in 1999. Shortly after, he continued his medical education as a researcher at Beth Israel Medical Center.

Dr. Grinberg completed a general surgery residency at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, an affiliate of Temple University School of Medicine. Following his general surgery residency, Dr. Grinberg graduated from a minimally invasive fellowship at Staten Island University Hospital.

Before joining the team at Lenox Hill Surgeons, LLP, Dr. Grinberg took a faculty position in the Department of General Surgery at Staten Island University Hospital. Dr. Grinberg was also granted the title of assistant professor of surgery at Hofstra University School of Medicine.
