Dr. Ghattas was born and raised in Houston, and dentistry fascinated him from a very early age.  After graduating from Langham Creek High School, he attended Texas A&M University and received a degree in biomedical science with a minor in business administration. 

He then completed dental school at The University of Texas at San Antonio and began his career as a dentist in Kentucky, where he practiced for about one year before realizing there were other more advanced procedures he wished to study and provide patients. With that, he decided to take the final step of his formal training at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, receiving a certificate in Advanced Education in General Dentistry.  

Dr. Ghattas still loves to learn and continues to keep up with all the latest information, research, and technology that is available. He dedicates himself to participating in seminars across the country for his own joy and to provide the best care for his patients. He holds memberships in the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Texas Dental Association, Texas Academy of General Dentistry, and Houston Dental Society.

Besides just learning, Dr. Ghattas loves to teach. Dr. Edwin Coligado is a graduate of the University of Texas Health Science Center Dental School in San Antonio, considered the top-ranked Dental School by U.S. News & World Report at the time. Dr. Coligado received his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Dallas, which included a core curriculum of liberal arts studies and studies overseas in Rome, Italy. Dr. Coligado was born in Cleveland, Ohio. He grew up in the Texas Panhandle town, Borger, where his father, Eduardo, had a private medical practice specializing in gastroenterology for over 30 years. His mother, Ely, was an R.N. and the office manager for his father's practice. His parents, originally from the Phillippines, retired in Kingwood.

His siblings are Eric, David, and Emy.

His hobbies include watching football, baseball, and playing tennis. He loves the competition and camaraderie of USTA tennis.
