Dr. Pavanjit Chhabra serves patients from throughout Long Island, New York at his practice, Oasis Dental, with offices in Hempstead and Islip, New York. He provides a variety of treatments including cosmetic dentistry, general dentistry, Clear Correct, orthodontics, dental implants, dentures, and teeth whitening.

He moved to New York in 1999 for Dental School and attended NYU College of Dentistry, where he earned his DDS degree. He also completed his 1-year residency at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York City. Prior to opening his office in 2008, he worked as an associate in various practices throughout the boroughs.

Dr. Chhabra was born in India and grew up in Bombay. He moved to the US in 1986 at age 13. Dr. Chhabra attended college at California State University, Northridge where he earned a B.S. in Cell Biology and an M.S. in Cell and Molecular Biology. He made lots of friends in LA, often while enjoying many outdoor activities; hiking and camping in Sequoia and Yosemite National Parks, cross country skiing in Yosemite, downhill skiing, and bungee jumping. He also earned his pilot’s license and flew for fun.

Dr. Simmy Arora practices dentistry at Oasis Dental, with offices in Hempstead and Islip, New York. She provides a variety of general and cosmetic dentistry treatments such as teeth whitening, Clear Correct orthodontics, dental implants, dentures, root canals, and tooth extractions.

Dr. Arora was born in Delhi, India, and moved to the US at a young age. Dr. Arora was a Biology Major at California State University, Northridge with a minor in Philosophy. She graduated in 1998 and got accepted to NYU College of dentistry. After graduating from NYU in 2001, she completed her 1-year residency at Bronx Lebanon Hospital. Dr. Arora began practicing as an associate in the Bronx and did so for 6 years prior to opening this practice.

In her spare time, Dr. Arora likes to read and paint in her free time, as well as watching movies, reading, and spending time with friends and family. Dr. Arora speaks Hindi and Punjabi.

We are pleased to welcome Dr. Rachel Maciog (or as we refer to her Dr. Rachel) to our practice! Dr. Rachel grew up in Connecticut and earned both a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry and a Doctorate of Dental Medicine at the University of Connecticut (go Huskies!). Afterward, she went on to complete a General Practice Residency at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT.

Dr. Rachel says "There is nothing that makes me happier than being able to coach young or anxious patients through dental treatment, and have them leave the office smiling, and proud." Having had a lot of dental work herself as a child, she understands and is empathetic toward the needs of patients who may not enjoy coming to the dentist, or who may have had a bad experience in the past.

Dr. Rachel is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), Connecticut State Dental Association (CSDA) and the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD). She attends continuing education courses frequently, to stay up to date on the latest dental advancements to ensure she provides the highest quality and most comfortable dental care. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband, going to different workout classes, cooking, baking, and occasionally binge-watching television shows.

We are pleased to welcome Dr. Michael Fazzone (also known as Dr. Mike) to our pratice! Dr. Mike grew up near Albany, NY but thankfully has been a lifelong Red Sox fan. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biochemistry from Washington & Lee University in Virginia, he then returned to his home state and earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from Columbia University.

Dr. Fazzone opted for an additional year of training, completing a General Practice Residency at the University of Utah where he worked with specialists doing extractions, implant placement, and operating room dentistry for special needs patients. He then returned to the northeast, practicing at the Connecticut shoreline in private practice before joining us in Rocky Hill.

Dr. Fazzone truly enjoys educating patients about dental health and is happy to answer any questions you may have. He has taken many continuing education courses to stay up to date on the latest in dentistry, including implant dentistry and Invisalign. Dr. Fazzone is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), the Connecticut State Dental Association (CSDA), and the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD).

Joel Scheir, DDS, is a highly skilled dentist who provides compassionate care for his patients at Cosmetic & General Dentistry of New City in New City, New York. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York, and earned his dental degree from the New York University College of Dentistry in New York City, New York. He finished his training with a general practice dental residency at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York City. 

Dr. Scheir stays up-to-date on the latest developments in his field as an active member of the American Dental Association. He’s had a Category II Certification from the Academy of Laser Dentistry since 1997, and he co-founded the Bistate Study Group in 1991, for which he’s also served as secretary and treasurer. He’s passionate about using his skills to give back to the community, and regularly provides dental care for underprivileged children through the Pomona Health Complex, which is sponsored by Rockland County. 

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Scheir is passionate about cooking, motorcycle touring, cycling, and a variety of sports. He’s a driving instructor for the Porsche Car Club and loves encouraging others to pursue their life passion as he has.

Danielle Scheir, DMD, is a kind and knowledgeable dentist who practices at Cosmetic & General Dentistry of New City in New City, New York. She’s the daughter of Joel Scheir, DDS, and works closely with her father to provide their patients with exceptional and compassionate care.

Dr. Scheir graduated from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, and earned her dental degree from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After graduating, she finished a general practice residency at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, New York City, and deepened her skillset in orthodontic, pediatric, implant, and restorative dentistry.

Dr. Scheir is active in numerous dental organizations and professional societies, including the Psi Omega national professional dental fraternity, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Dental Association. Gary Toubman, DMD, is a talented general dentist who helps maintain exceptional smiles at Cedar Mountain Dental in Newington, Connecticut. He comes from a long line of dentists in his family, dating back almost 100 years.

Dr. Toubman studied biology at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, and graduated cum laude in 1976. He earned his dental degree in 1980 from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and spent the next two years serving in the National Health Service Corps as the dental director of the Welsh Mountain Medical and Dental Center in New Holland, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Toubman has undergone additional postgraduate training at the prestigious Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne, Florida. Zach Korwin, DMD, FICOI, is a skilled and personable general dentist providing compassionate care at Cedar Mountain Dental in Newington, Connecticut. As the son of a successful dentist, he grew up watching his father make a significant difference in the lives of patients and was inspired to follow in his footsteps. 

Dr. Korwin earned his dental degree from one of the nation’s top dental schools: the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, graduating in 2014. He continues to refine his skills with continuing education courses and has developed advanced expertise in oral surgery, endodontics, and dental implants. He stays current on the latest dental trends through active memberships in professional organizations, including the Hartford Dental Society, the Connecticut State Dental Association, and the American Dental Association. 

Before joining the practice at Cedar Mountain Dental, Dr. Korwin gained invaluable experience in several unique dental centers, including his father’s boutique dental office in Red Bank, New Jersey. He has also dedicated countless hours of pro bono dental service to underprivileged patients through the Dental Lifeline Network and has taught as a clinical associate professor at both Temple University and the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. 

Dr. Korwin lives in central Connecticut with his wife, Amy, a pulmonology fellow at Yale University School of Medicine. They both enjoy spending time with their daughter, Emily, and dog, Chooie.

Igor Ilyabayev, DDS, is a highly skilled dentist at Central Avenue Dental in Valley Stream in New York City.

Dr. Ilyabayev graduated from St. John’s University in Queens, New York, with his undergraduate degree and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the New York University College of Dentistry. He then completed a general practice residency at Mount Sinai Queens, which gave him an extensive year of training in general dentistry.

In his efforts to continuously further his knowledge in the evolving and progressive field of dentistry, Dr. Ilyabayev takes numerous courses to provide his patients with the latest treatment modalities available to date. Some of the courses include completion of advanced mini-residency in dental implantology, Invisalign® treatment, and advanced training in the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea.
