Nikhil Lavana, DMD, is one of the general dentists practicing at Family Dental Group, which has locations in Gardner, Paxton, and Northborough, Massachusetts.
He graduated with honors in 2000 from Boston University’s Goldman School of Dentistry. He’s a 1995 graduate with honors from Pune University Bharati Vidyapeeth Dental College in Dhankawadi, India He completed a master’s degree in dental biomaterials at Marquette University School of Dentistry in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Dr. Lavana is an active member of the American Dental Association, Massachusetts Dental Society, and its local affiliate, the Worcester Dental Society. He is also a member of the local chapter of the Spear® Study Club, a dental practice continuing education effort by Spear Education LLC in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Dr. Lavana takes great pride in practicing dentistry and being on the cutting edge of dental technology. He is educated on single crown technology (CEREC) and dental lasers (Waterlase MD® from BIOLASE® Inc.), used for restorations without anesthesia, especially in children and periodontal surgeries with quick healing results.
Dr. Lavana has logged countless continuing education hours to master these technologies and is a certified expert in the field. He’s gentle and compassionate toward his patients. He’s comfortable doing all aspects of general dentistry, including veneers and cosmetic work, implant restorations, crown and bridge, root canal therapy, extractions, and tooth-colored fillings.
He is certified in Invisalign® (invisible braces) and is on the preferred provider list for providing treatment.
Dr. Lavana completed Dr. Frank Spears’ workshops in aesthetic dentistry and is working toward his fellowship with the American Association of General Dentistry.
Dr. Lavana has a keen interest in sports and movies. You can engage in conversations with him about sports of all kinds.
Since graduating from Boston University Dental School in 1983, Dr. Templer has kept up a continuous commitment to educating himself in his field, adding new skills, and staying current on innovations and technology.
He has completed the Postdoctoral Course in Conscious Sedation at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Medical Center, External Postdoctoral Courses in Implant Dentistry and Cosmetic Dentistry and a Maxi Course in Oral Implantology. His other accomplishments include a Mini-residency in Implant Dentistry at Tufts University.
Dr. Templer is a member of the American Dental Association and the Massachusetts Dental Society. At the Dawson Center for Advanced Dental Studies, Dr. Templer continues to hone the skills and principles of quality, successful dentistry, thorough patient care, and effective dental practice.
