Dr. Alvina Lim is a fourth generation dentist. Born in California and raised in Indonesia, she was exposed to a variety of cultures at an early age. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Southern Adventist University in Tennessee and her dental degree from Loma Linda University in California.

After graduating from a general practice residency at Mount Sinai Hospital, she worked in New York for two years as a general practitioner. This is where her passion for pediatric dental care developed. She pursued additional specialized training in pediatric dentistry at Mount Sinai Hospital where she served as Chief Resident. Dr. Steven Kalendariov has a true passion for Endodontics, which he discovered during his residency at Woodhull Hospital Medical Center. It was there that she saw the need for oral education and treatment. She also took on an internship in Temple Dental in summer of 2015 where she served inner city areas in North Philadelphia. There she was exposed to translating and helping patients with understanding their treatments. Before coming to Lasante Dental as a dentist, Dr. Castillo completed two years of residency at Jamaica Hospital- School of Dental Medicine.

Dr. Castillo participated in the Stony Brook Outreach- South Dakota where she provided dental care for patients in need on an Indian reservation. She was part of a dental team that saw and treated patients that were mostly edentulous.
