Dr. Oluyemi Workman, DDS is the founder and lead dentist of Braselton Smile Studio and Smile Studio of Buford, two family-friendly general and cosmetic dental practices serving Hamilton Mill, Braselton, Buford, and the surrounding North Atlanta communities. She is a graduate of Creighton University School of Dentistry, Class of 2015, and has spent the years since building a practice culture grounded in one simple promise: treat every patient like family.
Why I Became a Dentist
"It became clear to me many years ago that I had the ability to help people through dentistry," Dr. Workman shared in her VoyageATL feature. That conviction has never wavered. For Dr. Workman, dentistry is not about procedures — it is about the life-changing impact a healthy, confident smile has on the person sitting in the chair. A patient who has hidden their smile for years, a child learning that the dentist can actually be fun, a parent who finally addresses pain they had pushed aside — these are the moments that anchor her work.
Training and Continuing Education
Dr. Workman's commitment to her patients shows up in the hours she invests outside the operatory. She is a proud alumna of the Glidewell Guiding Leaders Class of 2025, an invitation-based leadership and business-development program for women dentists held at the Glidewell campus in Southern California. Of the experience, she has said the in-person sessions were powerful, "but the greatest gift is the bonds and sisterhood I've built with other Guiding Leaders — relationships that have become a source of strength, accountability, and inspiration."
She has been selected for the Georgia Dental Association Leadership Class of 2026, a competitive cohort that prepares Georgia's next generation of organized-dentistry leaders, and she is currently working toward her Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry (MAGD), Class of 2027 — a credential that requires more than 1,100 hours of advanced continuing education and hands-on training, and is held by only a small percentage of general dentists nationwide.
Her clinical interests span comprehensive family dentistry, cosmetic and smile-design cases, Invisalign, dental implants, and same-visit CEREC digital crowns. She has invested heavily in technology so patients can complete most of their care under one roof rather than being referred from office to office.
Philosophy of Care
"Treat every patient like family." That sentence is the operating system of both practices. In practice, it means three things: a clean, modern, welcoming environment that feels nothing like the dental office of your childhood; clear education so every patient understands the why behind a treatment plan before they ever say yes; and a team trained to meet anxious patients with patience rather than pressure. Dr. Workman is especially known for her work with patients who carry dental fear — many of her longest-tenured patients first walked in dreading the visit and now bring their entire family.
Community in Hamilton Mill and Buford
Dr. Workman lives and practices in the community she serves. Braselton Smile Studio opened in late 2018 on Highway 211 in the Hamilton Mill corridor, and Smile Studio of Buford followed as a second home for patients on the Buford and Sugar Hill side of Gwinnett. Both offices partner with local schools, youth sports families, and small businesses in the Hamilton Mill, Braselton, and Buford area, and the team regularly supports community events and patient-driven charitable initiatives throughout the year.
Outside the Office
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Workman is a wife, a mom, and — by her own admission — a lifelong Disney fan who still calls Walt Disney World "the happiest place on Earth." That same belief in hospitality, detail, and guest experience is what she works to recreate every day for the families who trust her with their care.
