Born and raised in Huntington Beach, California, Dr. Ortale realized he wanted to be a dentist in the fourth grade. After graduating from The University of California at Irvine in 1993, he stuck to his plan and immediately enrolled in dental school at the University of Iowa in Iowa City. He initially planned on specializing in pediatrics upon graduation in 1997, but life had other plans for Dr. Ortale.
With so much left to learn, Dr. Ortale continued training in the Air Force and completed an advanced education in general dentistry (AEGD) residency in 1998 at Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska. Dr. Ortale was fortunate enough to live abroad in Germany for two years before settling down in Arizona in 2000. While Dr. Ortale joined a dental practice in Scottsdale, Arizona, shortly after returning to the United States, he took a chance and started his own practice in 2003.

He additionally completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency in Tucson, Arizona through the Lutheran Medical Program. Looking to further challenge himself, Donald sought to pursue his interest in providing anesthesia to the dental community. After completion of the Dental Anesthesiology Residency at Loma Linda University in 2006, he returned to Arizona to fulfill his goal of serving the Valley of the Sun. He has continued to provide general anesthesia care to pediatric and general dentists throughout the state of Arizona since that time.

Rick Campbell, DDS, is a family and cosmetic dentist at Sunrise Smile Design in Phoenix, Arizona. He is passionate about helping people achieve healthier, more confident smiles. A graduate of Creighton University School of Dentistry, Dr. Campbell began his career by purchasing a dental practice in his hometown of Roseburg, Oregon. He later relocated with his wife, Juanita, and their four daughters to sunny Arizona.
With over two decades of experience, Dr. Campbell remains committed to providing top-quality dental care through continuous learning. He regularly attends advanced courses on cosmetic dentistry, laser dentistry, and dental implant restoration.
