Gowri Kularatna, MD, specializes in gastroenterology at GI Associates of Maryland in Waldorf, Maryland. She has years of experience in the medical field and uses her knowledge to diagnose and treat patients. 

Dr. Kularatna attended Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, obtaining her bachelor’s degree in biology. She then received her medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore.  

Dr. Kularatna completed her internal medicine residency at Boston Medical Center in Massachusetts and a gastroenterology fellowship at The Barnes-Jewish Hospital through Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. 

Dr. Kularatna is board-certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology. She is also a professional member of the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Gastroenterology Association.

At GI Associates of Maryland in Waldorf, Dr. Kularatna works closely with patients to ensure she provides expert care. She has a comfortable office setting and takes an evidence-based approach to treat her patients. 

Sohan R. Varma, MD, is an internal medicine physician at Washington Internal Medicine in Chantilly, Virginia. Dr. Varma is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and provides comprehensive patient-centered medical care to patients in Northern Virginia.

He is a native of the Washington, DC, metro area. He graduated cum laude from George Mason University with a Bachelor of Science in biology and a minor in chemistry. He graduated with honors and obtained a doctorate degree in medicine from Ross University School of Medicine in Miami, Florida, in 2009. Afterward, he completed his internship training at Mount Sinai School of Medicine and his residency training at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York in 2014. 

Dr. Varma has nearly a decade of experience working in acute care, primary care, and skilled nursing facilities as a hospitalist/internist in the states of New York and Virginia. His focus of research has been chronic Hepatitis B and inflammatory bowel disease. Dr. Varma has co-authored a case report published in Chest Journal on Dengue Shock Syndrome in 2015. 

Dr. Varma believes in a complete health care plan for the patient, which includes physical, mental, social, and spiritual health. He aims to provide the highest quality care and spend time getting to know his patients on an individual level. 

Ndubuisi Okafor, MD, is a board-certified internal medicine physician with over 20 years of experience. At his practice, Okafor Medical Associates, located in Washington, DC, Dr. Okafor offers patients compassionate care for a variety of conditions including chronic disease management, ADHD, and internal medicine concerns as a leading primary care physician.

Dr. Okafor obtained his medical degree from the Howard University Hospital and is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is also specially trained in Advanced Trauma Life Support and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support.

Dr. Okafor is a registered Civil Surgeon with the United States Center for Immigration Services, so he can provide Immigration Medical examinations with all the required tests in the facility. In addition, is a Registered Certified Medical Examiner with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, so he can provide medical examination and certification for commercial motor vehicle drivers.

When he is not treating his patients, Dr. Okafor enjoys spending time with his family and pursuing his hobbies which include football, soccer, and running. Dr. Okafor also speaks English, Ibo, Yoruba, and Hausa.

Melissa Grosvenor, PhD, M.S. CCC-SLP, I/ECMH-C, BCS-CL, is a board-certified child language specialist, credentialed infant mental health specialist, and owner of Express Yourself Pediatric Therapy, with locations in Palatine, Illinois, Bucktown, Chicago and Kensington, Maryland. She is highly qualified and a leader in her field.

Dr. Grosvenor completed her master’s degree in speech-language pathology at Rush University in Chicago, Illinois, and her doctorate in infant and early childhood development at Fielding Graduate University in Santa Barbara, California. 

Dr. Grosvenor is also a credentialed DIRFloortime® provider. She has more than 10 years of experience teaching courses through the International Council on Development and Learning (ICDL), Profectum, and the Erikson Institute. 

She loves the “family feel” culture at Express Yourself Pediatric Therapy, where the thriving nurturing environment drives growth and development for the outstanding therapists, children, and their families. Dr. Grosvenor attributes much of her success to her two beautiful children, who teach her important lessons about child development and parenting.
