Dr. Issa graduated with a Bachelor of Science in microbiology from the University of Florida and then received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Western University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in California. After returning to Florida, Dr. Issa did his internship and residency in internal medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach. He also completed a fellowship in cardiovascular disease with the Columbia University Division of Cardiology at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach.

Dr. Issa holds board certification in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, adult comprehensive echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, and vascular interpretation. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and presented research to professional organizations such as the American College of Cardiology.
