Ramzan M. Zakir, MD, RPVI, FACC, FSCAI, is an interventional vascular specialist at Cardiac & Vascular Interventions of New Jersey. He specializes in minimally invasive treatments for patients in New Brunswick, New Jersey, who suffer from vascular disease.
Dr. Zakir is recognized by the International Association of Top Professionals as the Top Interventional Cardiologist of the Year for 2021. Since 2009, in his role as an interventional cardiologist, Dr. Zakir has performed thousands of successful angioplasty procedures. Early in his career, Dr. Zakir attended Rutgers College and completed both his internship and residency at UMDNJ – New Jersey Medical School, and served as chief medical resident at Hackensack University Hospital. He is board-certified in cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology, echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, and endovascular. A clinical associate professor of medicine at Rutgers Medical School – Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, he is involved in research and fellow training. As a leader in interventional cardiology, he serves as principal investigator of several clinical trials to enhance the management of patients with coronary artery disease, peripheral arterial disease, and venous disease.
Dr. Zakir is an affiliate of several organizations, including the American College of Cardiology, a fellow of the Society for Cardiac Angiography and Intervention, and a member of the Police Defense Foundation, as well as Health Forces for Police. An illustrious scholar, he is known for his distinguished contributions to prominent medical publications and he has been invited as faculty to numerous international conferences, including TCT, NCVH, and ACC. Dr. Zakir is fluent in Urdu, Punjabi, Hindi, and English.
Dr. Zakir’s hobbies include tennis, basketball, football, and watching the New York Jets, Knicks and Yankees. He cites raising his two sons and daughter as personal achievements. He dedicates this recognition to his father, Mirza, and to Saud Sadiq.

Marc Zac Handler, MD, is an acclaimed lecturer and a board-certified academic dermatologist at Kessel Dermatology in Hamilton Square, New Jersey. He is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Dr. Handler is also an assistant clinical professor in dermatology at Rutgers University New Jersey Medical School.
He served as a Fellow in the United States House of Representatives and crafted cost-neutral legislation to combat HIV infection. Dr. Handler is a recipient of the prestigious Tatotsu Imaeda, MD, PhD, Academic Scholar Award for his extensive academic work, which includes greater than 30 peer-reviewed publications and five book chapters. Dr. Handler is the only person to be the first author of back-to-back cover articles in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, the leading American journal specializing in dermatology.
Focused on improving health care access both locally and abroad, Dr. Handler has provided volunteer medical care with Project MediShare in earthquake-stricken Port-au-Prince, Haiti. His experience in Haiti led to an invitation to assist the House Foreign Affairs Committee, in Washington, DC, on USAID expenditures. He has since been a volunteer physician at the HIV hospital in Accra, Ghana, and a volunteer Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) in Hoboken, New Jersey.
Dr. Handler has been an invited guest lecturer around the globe, including Montenegro, New York, Miami, Kuwait, Iran, and Jordan. Dr. Handler holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of California, San Diego, and received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Nebraska. Dr. Handler completed a research fellowship in pediatric dermatology at the University of Miami with department chairman Dr. Lawrence Schachner, author of Pediatric Dermatology. He completed his residency in dermatology at Rutgers University with Dr. Robert A. Schwartz, providing needed care for the underserved patients of Newark, New Jersey, and military veterans at the East Orange Veterans hospital. He was selected to serve as the program’s Chief Resident during his senior year. He completed a Mohs micrographic surgery and procedural dermatology fellowship at Skin Laser & Surgery Specialists of NY and NJ under the direction of Dr. David J. Goldberg.
