Dr. Hussain was born in Los Angeles, California, and grew up in Baghdad, Iraq. She received her medical degree from the University of Sulaimani School of Medicine in Sulaimani, Iraq. She completed her internal medicine residency at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, and her gastroenterology fellowship at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. She did an additional year of advanced endoscopy fellowship at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. Her research experience during training was centered on understanding the molecular basis of different GI diseases, in particular Barrett’s esophagus. This research experience has provided her with an in-depth understanding of the pathogenesis of the disease.

Dr. Vadlamudi completed Internal Medicine residency from East Tennessee State University, Johnson City, Tennessee. He received a Master’s in Public Health (Health Administration) from East Tennessee State University. He worked at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center as Research Chair of Hospital Medicine and Assistant Professor of Medicine. He was honored with “Fellow of American College of Physicians (FACP)”. He completed a Gastroenterology and Hepatology Fellowship at State University of New York (SUNY) Upstate, Syracuse, New York. He was awarded “The Best Fellow” during his fellowship. He finished his Advanced Interventional Endoscopy (ERCP/EUS) Fellowship at Carilion Clinic, Roanoke, Virginia.
