I believe that building a trusting, collaborative relationship is at the heart of healing. My goal is to help you feel safe, supported, and empowered throughout your therapeutic journey. If stress, perfectionism, daily life stressors, or trying to please others is hindering your daily life, you are not alone. I specialize in working with individuals who are struggling with panic, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, relationship stressors, and the emotional aftermath of difficult life experiences.
In our first few sessions, we begin to get to know one another, understand what you might currently be struggling with and the origins of those struggles. Once we have built a foundation, we can then begin incorporating coping skills and utilizing therapeutic interventions tailored to you as an individual.
Therapy with me is collaborative and compassionate, free of judgment and focused on helping you to feel calmer, more connected with others, and in control of your life. If you're ready to begin your journey toward healing, I’m here to help.

It is my belief that every person, from all walks of life, has their own struggles with mental health. Therapy can be utilized to help us become more self-aware and as a result be more self-sufficient. I take a psychodynamic approach in which I work with you to dive deep into the psychological roots of your emotional processes. In other words, I help you develop a deeper understanding of your emotional and mental well-being.
I am a licensed mental health counselor in the state of New York, fluent in English and Arabic. I earned a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Hofstra University, and soon after went on to earn a master's degree in Mental Health Counseling at SUNY College of Old Westbury. I had the opportunity to complete a clinical internship at Rikers Island working with the incarcerated population. Working with such a complex and diverse population not only allowed me to learn the true value of therapy but, that therapy truly works best when customized to the needs of the individual.
I aim to work with clients with the goal of creating an individualized treatment plan that helps to focus and improve on the areas of their life that may be lacking or in disarray. I have extensive experience working with patients experiencing anxiety, depression, personality disorders, mood disorders, as well as trauma and issues surrounding culture/diversity.
I prioritize the therapeutic relationship, believing it is the foundation of effective therapy. My goal is to create a supportive and nonjudgmental environment where you can freely explore your concerns. I take pride in utilizing active listening, empathy, and unconditional positive regard to build trust and rapport. I embrace an eclectic approach that draws from various therapeutic modalities to meet the unique needs of each client. My approach is founded on the belief that individuals are complex, and a one-size-fits-all method may not capture the richness of their experiences. I integrate elements from humanistic, psychodynamic, and cognitive-behavioral perspectives, tailoring my interventions to the specific challenges and strengths of each individual.

My commitment lies in translating this understanding into impactful therapeutic interventions, fostering growth and well-being for individuals and families in need. Prior to my residency at The Soho Center, I completed my practicum, working with a diverse range of individuals, including minorities, children, adults, and LGBTQ+ individuals. I provided support for issues such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, life transitions, marital issues, substance abuse, and more.
