Dr. Gunia is one of the few sub-specialty fellowship-trained Breast Surgical Oncologists in Scottsdale and is committed to the evaluation and treatment of breast disease. She is dedicated to bringing the highest level of breast care to the valley by incorporating her expertise in the newest technologies and advancements available for both the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. Dr. Jason Samuelian is a Board-certified Radiation Oncologist, with expertise in novel radiation techniques including Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT), Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS), and Stereotactic Ablative Radiotherapy (SABR). He has a particular interest in using new and advanced treatment techniques to minimize side effects. Dr. Samuelian joined Arizona Center for Cancer Care in 2015. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Physiology from Brigham Young University, where he graduated cum laude. He completed an internal medicine internship at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center, followed by residency training at the Baylor College of Medicine, where he also served as chief resident. In addition, Dr. Samuelian has completed two brachytherapy fellowships — at the MD Anderson Cancer Center and the Seattle Prostate Institute.

Dr. Samuelian is a member of the American Society of Therapeutic Radiation Oncology, American Brachytherapy Society, American College of Radiology, American College of Radiation Oncology, and the American Society of Clinical Oncology. He has been invited to serve on the ASCO Professional Development Committee. He currently serves as Chairman of the Cancer Committee at Banner Boswell Medical Center in Sun City, a program accredited by the Commission on Cancer (CoC).

Dr. Samuelian actively participates in cooperative group clinical trials. Dr. DiPasquale is a specialized breast surgeon with expertise in treating both malignant and benign breast diseases. Dr. Devinder Singh obtained his MD from the Government Medical College in Patiala (Punjab), India. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Shortly after, he completed his fellowship in Medical Oncology and Hematology from the City of Hope National Medical Center in Duarte, California in 1992. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Oncology, and Hematology.

In August of 1992, he founded the Arizona Center for Hematology/Oncology and has been servicing the greater Phoenix area since then with his other medical oncology associates. In 2008, in collaboration with Drs. Biggs, Lee, and Reed, the radiation oncology division was established, and the practice name was changed to Arizona Center for Cancer Care. Among his many accomplishments, in 2019 Dr. Singh received the “Oncology Service Award” from Phoenix Cancer Support Network and was nominated as “Best Doctor in Oncology” by Phoenix Magazine. He is a clinical assistant professor at Midwestern Medical University (Glendale campus) and is actively involved in teaching medical students.

Dr. Singh has been married to his wonderful wife, Randeep, since 1982. They have three beautiful children, two daughters, Raman and Rimpi, and one son, Aman, all attending different universities. They also have two Yorkshire terriers, Rusty and Musty, and a playful cat, Millie. In his free time, Dr. Singh enjoys playing golf.

A licensed and certified physician assistant, Perry has worked in a variety of healthcare settings throughout her career and particularly enjoys working alongside Dr. Brenda Moorthy at the Virginia G Piper Cancer Care Network Comprehensive Breast Center of Arizona. Dr. Modasi is a highly trained minimally invasive and robotic surgeon with subspecialty expertise in hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery. He has been published and cited in numerous journals internationally and has given talks to surgeons from across the world.

During his training Dr. Modasi won several awards for his technical abilities in laparoscopy and was ranked amongst the highest trainees across the country academically. He then went on to pursue fellowship training at the University of Alberta focusing on Minimally Invasive Surgery and Bariatric Surgery, followed by a second fellowship in Robotic and Hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) Surgery at AdventHealth Tampa.

Dr. Michele Sazama is a board-certified adult nurse practitioner with extensive clinical experience, including over twenty years working with oncology patients.  She holds national specialty certifications as an Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner (AOCNP) and Board-Certified Medical Affairs Specialist (BCMAS). 

Dr. Sazama was an instructor for Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing for many years and continues to serve as adjunct faculty for the Arizona State University nursing program.  She created and directed a formal clinical rotation in oncology for graduate and doctoral nursing candidates, helping Arizona students develop their ability to safely care for oncology patients.

Physician Spotlight

Dr. Solís is a board-certified general surgeon and fellowship-trained breast surgical oncologist who specializes in the treatment of both benign and malignant breast disease. She has advanced training in oncoplastic techniques, including hidden scar techniques, as well as nipple sparing mastectomy. She has been well published in the field of breast surgery, with multiple publications in the areas of ductal carcinoma in situ, high risk breast lesions, idiopathic granulomatous mastitis, and risk-reducing mastectomy.  

Dr. Solís received her undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Virginia School of Medicine. She completed her general surgery residency at Inova Health System in Falls Church, Virginia before completing her breast surgical oncology fellowship at Vanderbilt University. In her spare time, she loves to travel, cook, and spend time with her large family, including her husband and sons.

Dr. Jeans is an Arizona native who returned to join the Arizona Center for Cancer Care in 2022 and is excited to be serving the patients of her hometown. She was awarded the highest honor from the Mayo Clinic; the Mayo Brothers Distinguished Fellowship Award, due to outstanding clinical performance, humanitarianism, and scholarly activity. She has held innumerable national leadership roles including chair of Society of Women in Radiation Oncology, board member of the Radiation Oncology Education Group, and board member for the American Medical Women’s Association.

Additionally, Dr. Jeans has also opened multiple prospective studies utilizing novel radiotherapy techniques and authored countless papers and textbooks making her an early leader in the field.

In her spare time, Dr. Jeans enjoys spending time with her husband, David, and her immediate and extended family, located throughout the Valley. She enjoys travelling and hiking. Prior to medicine, she was a Physics and Chemistry High School Teacher in inner-city Chicago.

Dr. Christopher Biggs specializes in radiation oncology and is an expert in radiosurgery and gynecological oncology.

Dr. Biggs co-founded Arizona Center for Cancer Care in 2008 with Drs. Devinder Singh, Daniel Reed and Terry Lee. He attended the University of Arizona, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular and Cellular biology. His interest in cancer research took him to the University of Southern California, under the Borchard Cancer Research Fellowship. There, he performed research on the molecular genetics of cancer at the Norris Cancer Center and at LA Children’s Hospital. After completing his Doctor of Philosophy degree, he moved to Stanford University, where he earned his medical degree, and developed an interest in radiation oncology. Dr. Biggs completed his residency in radiation oncology at the University of California, San Francisco, where he eventually served as chief resident.

For five years, Dr. Biggs performed radiosurgery at Barrow Neurological Institute and also served as director of the Baptist Oncology Center.

Dr. Biggs is certified by the American Board of Radiology and is a Diplomat of the American Society of Therapeutic Radiation Oncology. Dr. Parmjeet Kumar Banghar specializes in hematology, medical oncology, and internal medicine. He joined Arizona Center for Cancer Care in 2008 when his team at Arizona Center for Hematology and Oncology partnered with the practice.

Currently, Dr. Banghar is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and American Society of Hematology. He has participated in a research study involving cerebrovascular diseases and been published in several journals, including Leukemia Research and the Indian Journal of Medical Sciences. After graduating from a premier medical school in India, Dr. Fernandes continued her training in Internal Medicine and obtained advanced training in the treatment of blood and cancer disorders in the United States. Dr. Dahmer joined Arizona Center for Cancer Care in 2008 when her team at Arizona Center for Hematology and Oncology partnered with the practice. Prior to joining Arizona Center for Hematology and Oncology in 2002, Dr. Dahmer developed the oncology program at both Maryvale and Memorial Hospitals in Phoenix. She was also Chief of Medicine at Laurentian Hospital in California and has served as a medical consultant for prominent centers and labs.

Dr. Dahmer has been active in the medical community as a past or current member of several organizations, most recently as a member of The Arizona Clinical Oncology Society, the American Society of Hematology, and the Association of Community Cancer Centers, to name a few.

Dr. Gerald Lucas is board certified in Radiation Oncology, and a member of the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, the American Brachytherapy Society, and the American Society of Clinical Oncology. After completing medical school at Indiana University, and his residency at University of Southern California, he established his practice in 1992 at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center in Phoenix.
