Avo Artinyan, MD, MS, is the CEO and founder of Academic Surgical Associates in Glendale, California. A nationally recognized expert and innovator in surgical oncology and colorectal surgery, Dr. Artinyan is a board-certified general surgeon, fellowship-trained surgical oncologist, and colorectal surgeon.
Dr. Artinyan is a nationally recognized expert in minimally-invasive gastrointestinal surgical oncology, particularly laparoscopic, robotic, and transanal colon and rectal cancer surgery. He is known for sphincter-preserving and organ-preserving resection techniques for rectal cancer and was among the early developers of transanal minimally invasive surgery (TAMIS). He also specializes in the surgical treatment of gastric, pancreaticobiliary, soft tissue, and breast cancers, and other general surgical diseases.
As a surgeon’s surgeon, Dr. Artinyan has been asked to operate on his colleagues, residents, and students. This experienced was followed with a Faculty Position at Roswell Park Cancer Center in Buffalo, NY before moving to the Dallas area with her family. She has also co-authored various book chapters in medical textbooks which are used in teaching programs across the country.
Dr. Kaur is fluent in English, Hindi, and Punjabi. In her free time, Dr. Kaur enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and volunteering time at the local Sikh Temple where she focuses on her faith, Sikhism.

Maria Scouros, MD, founded the Houston Cancer Institute, PA, which has three locations in Houston and another in Katy, Texas, in 1984. She is certified by the American Board of Medical Oncology, with an international reputation for practicing state-of-the-art medicine with a commitment to excellence. She is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, Texas Medical Association and Harris County Medical Society, and MD Anderson Alumni.
Dr. Scouros received her training in medical oncology at M.D. AndersonCancer Center, Houston, Texas, after completing her medical training at the Royal Free Hospital Medical School in London, UK and her internal medicine training at Evangelismos Hospital, Athens, Greece.

Led by Triple Board-certified Internist, Hematologist, and Medical Oncologist Nikki Bajaj, MD, the practice offers personable, one-on-one care to every new and returning patient. Dr. Bajaj’s wide-ranging medical background allows her to treat patients with individualized care, from simple to complex, using the latest knowledge in her fields of specialty.
Dr. Bajaj completed her Hematology and Medical Oncology fellowship as a chief fellow at St. Jospeh Regional Medical Centre, NJ, an affliate of New York Medical College, a member of the Touro College and University System. She finished her Internal Medicine Residency at Seton Hall University, West orange, NJ. Prior to her residency, Dr. Bajaj was a research assistant at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. During her training, she published a multitude of journal articles and case reports.
Dr Bajaj has been practicing medicine for about eight years in the states of New Jersey, Michigan and Missouri, intially as a hospitalist / Internist and then a specialist in Hematology & Oncology after completing her fellowship training.
This has provided her immense exposure and opportunity to acqquire substantial clinical grounding in the management of various aspects of acute and chronic diseases. She believes the most important aspect of cancer treatment is patient education and shared decision making for an individualized, evidence based and comprehensive treatment plan for all her patients.
Throughout her career, Dr. Bajaj has accumulated experience treating malignant cancers, benign hematological disorders, and high-risk pregnancies. In her current role at HOPE, Hematology & Oncology Associates LLC, she specializes in diagnosing and carefully treating skin cancer, breast cancer, prostate cancer, and brain tumors. She also frequently sees patients for bleeding disorders and anemia.
Dr. Bajaj is consistently recognized for her stand-out drive, personability, and communication skills in four languages. She was recognized in New Jersey Monthly Magazine’s “Top Docs” for two years in a row.
