She completed her residency in internal medicine at White Memorial Medical Center in Los Angeles, followed by a hematology/oncology fellowship at Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey, Pennsylvania. She also participated in a clinical breast oncology program at the University of Miami in Florida.
She serves on numerous local and national boards for breast cancer and breast cancer prevention, including the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American College of Physicians, and the National Medical Association. Dr. Richardson also serves the breast cancer community as a member of the Susan G. Komen Leadership Council and National Advisory Board, and as an elected member of the California Breast Cancer Research Council at the University of California.
