Avie Grunspan, MD, is a board-certified sleep medicine specialist and a highly skilled internal medicine practitioner. In his role at Texas Pediatric Specialties and Family Sleep Center, Dr. Grunspan is honored to help adults in the Shavano Park, and Lockhill-Selma areas of San Antonio, Texas, improve their health and get the rest they need to thrive.
Education has always played a central role in Dr. Grunspan’s life. He began his studies at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland and the University of Cincinnati, both in his native Ohio. He went on to earn his medical degree from Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara in Mexico, where he met his wife.
Once he returned to the United States, Dr. Grunspan studied in New York at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and trained for three years at the Mount Sinai program for internal medicine. He spent the following 17 years practicing internal medicine in Rochester, New York.
Seeking a warmer climate and a change of pace, Dr. Grunspan and his family relocated to San Antonio in 2003, where he continued working in internal medicine and became interested in sleep medicine. Jennifer obtained a Bachelor of Arts from Texas A&M University at College Station in 2005 with a major in English. Following her passion for healthcare, she pursued an undergraduate nursing degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center where she graduated in 2008.
Her commitment to pediatric care led her back to the same university for nurse practitioner school, where she graduated in 2011 with a Master’s Degree in Nursing.
Jennifer has received advanced training in pediatric neurology, including concussion, headache, epilepsy, autism, and developmental disorders.
Prior to joining THINK Neurology, she gained valuable experience in critical care at Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital in The Woodlands, where she met Dr. Varghese and Dr. Marchesano.
Her clinical background also includes roles in the pediatric primary care and pediatric urgent care settings.

A native of Dallas, Dr. Varghese grew up with an interest in science and sports. He studied at Austin College in Sherman, Texas, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in business administration in 2004 while completing his pre-med courses. He was awarded the Bryant Boutwell, Dr. P.H., and John P. McGovern, M.D., Scholarship in 2004, and received nominations for the 2006 Research Forum and C. Frank Webber Prize, and the 2008 Neuroscience Research Center Distinguished Medical Student Award. Dr. Varghese obtained his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston in 2009.
Following graduation, Dr. Varghese completed a two-year residency in pediatrics and a combined three years of residency in adult and child neurology at the University of Texas Medical School, which is the largest medical center in the world. Dr. Walls majored in biology and psychology with a chemistry minor for her undergraduate studies at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, earning a Bachelor of Science. After graduating in 2006, she enrolled at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston to complete her medical degree.
Dr. Walls undertook her residency in pediatrics at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston and Memorial Hermann Children's Hospital from 2010-2013. Wade Steeves, MD, is a general neurologist at Valley Neurology PLLC in Spokane Valley, Washington. Known as the Headache Guy, Dr. Steeves treats headaches and facial pain full-time.
After completing his neurology residency at West Virginia University in Morgantown, West Virginia, Dr. Steeves relocated to the Spokane Valley area to work at MultiCare Rockwood Clinic.

Since 2018, no less than six new prevention therapies and four new acute medications have been made available for migraine sufferers. When not at the office, Dr. Steeves enjoys spending time with his family, biking, skiing, woodworking, reading, and traveling.
