He asked his orthodontist about braces, but the orthodontist told Dr. Cashion his bite was acceptable and that he should talk to his dentist about a new procedure being done called bonding — this was the early 1980s. That decision changed his life.

Dr. Cashion had cosmetic bonding done to close the spaces and make a fuller smile and remembers the freedom it brought not to have to cover his teeth every time he smiled. His personal life experience and this single and monumental dental appointment cemented his decision to pursue dentistry as a career.

His goal is to develop the jaws to the proper size, align the teeth, and make room for the tongue, which improves breathing. Thus, not only is form improved appearance, but also functionality.

Teresa Cody, DDS, is a knowledgeable and talented Doctor of Dental Surgery specializing in General Dentistry and Aesthetics. Dr. Cody sees patients at C & C Dental, a premier general, cosmetic, and aesthetic dental practice in Sugar Land, Texas.

Dr. Cody never thought she’d end up a dentist. Her childhood dentist did not believe in anesthetics. This painful experience left her petrified and made her a challenging patient due to fear. 

When Dr. Cody attended college, she went to an excellent dentist and discovered dental visits could be pain-free, even pleasant. Maybe that is why she is obsessed with finding new and better ways to make dentistry comfortable.

Her practice offers amenities like televisions to entertain patients during procedures and new anesthetics – no shot necessary. Dr. Cody also provides topical cream to numb gums, specially formulated and made by the compounding pharmacist. In addition, high-tech equipment makes every job more manageable. Dr. Cody and Dr. Cashion met in dental school. They have two children, Erin and Neal. Their marriage is a prime example of the phrase “never say never,” as Dr. Cashion, a born and bred Texas Aggie, swore he would never marry a Texas Longhorn growing up. Erin needed braces due to severely overcrowded teeth. Most orthodontists she talked to wanted to pull teeth. Dr. Cody decided that she would do it herself if she couldn’t have her daughter treated the way she wanted. 

Thus began the new passion of her career. After hundreds of hours of orthodontic training, she established a goal of non-extraction braces whenever possible.

Neal has Down syndrome. Dr. Cody and Dr. Cashion understand the difficulties in getting dental treatment. They have a thorough knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the child’s needs. Often, there is severe crowding and no room for the tongue, resulting in subsequent speech problems and deep palates.

As an adjunct to their busy general family practice, Dr. Cody and Dr. Cashion are particularly interested in treating special needs children. They started a non-profit 501c3 called Changing Minds Foundation to support further research and treatment of individuals with Down syndrome.

Dr. Coligado was born in Cleveland, Ohio. He grew up in the Texas Panhandle town, Borger, where his father, Eduardo, had a private medical practice specializing in gastroenterology for over 30 years. His mother, Ely, was an R.N. and the office manager for his father's practice. His parents, originally from the Phillippines, retired in Kingwood.

His siblings are Eric, David, and Emy.

His hobbies include watching football, baseball, and playing tennis. He loves the competition and camaraderie of USTA tennis.

Dr. Coligado is married to his beautiful wife, Maria. They now have 4 wonderful children, Hector, Nathalia, and twins, Joseph & Isabella.

Dr. Ghattas was born and raised in Houston, and dentistry fascinated him from a very early age.  After graduating from Langham Creek High School, he attended Texas A&M University and received a degree in biomedical science with a minor in business administration. 

He then completed dental school at The University of Texas at San Antonio and began his career as a dentist in Kentucky, where he practiced for about one year before realizing there were other more advanced procedures he wished to study and provide patients. With that, he decided to take the final step of his formal training at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, receiving a certificate in Advanced Education in General Dentistry.  

Dr. Ghattas still loves to learn and continues to keep up with all the latest information, research, and technology that is available. He dedicates himself to participating in seminars across the country for his own joy and to provide the best care for his patients. He holds memberships in the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Texas Dental Association, Texas Academy of General Dentistry, and Houston Dental Society.

Besides just learning, Dr. Ghattas loves to teach. Dr. Sarah Olim is a Houston native and graduated early from Tulane University with Honors, double majoring in Cell and Molecular Biology and Spanish Literature followed by the University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston where she received a scholarship from OKU and participated in student government and was on the Admissions Board.

She is working toward a Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry and has focused her hundreds of hours of Continuing Education on Orthodontics and Pediatric Growth and Development. Over the past seven years, Dr. Olim has successfully treated many types of malocclusions using Invisalign and traditional fixed or removable orthodontics on patients of all ages. She continues to treat patients with Restorative Dentistry because it is so rewarding to treat their concerns in a single visit, especially with Cosmetic Dentistry.
