Roy Hudgens, DMD, is a restorative and cosmetic dentist and the founder of Hudgens Dental in Charleston, South Carolina. Dr. Hudgens has provided high-quality dental services to families for over 25 years.
Dr. Hudgens completed his bachelor’s degree in pharmaceutical sciences from the University of South Carolina. Following his studies, he went on to receive his dental education at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) and graduated in 1990 with his doctorate in dental medicine. After graduating from dental school, he completed a two year residency in general dentistry at MUSC.
During his two-year residency, Dr. Hudgens was trained alongside top dentists in their field and trained in advanced techniques in periodontics, endodontics, prosthodontics, oral surgery and pediatric dentistry. He furthered his education by completing two additional years in oral surgery.
Dr. Hudgens entered into private practice in 1996, and he has since been providing care to residents in and around the West Ashley area of Charleston, South Carolina.
With extensive graduate training in multiple dental specialties, Dr. Hudgens offers his patients a comfortable dental home and a place where they can receive most of their dental needs in one office. Lawrence Sarner, DMD, is a general dentist practicing at Pleasant Family Dentistry, located in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. His goal is to help individuals living in and around Charleston County improve their oral health and ensure the longevity of their smiles.
Dr. Sarner was born and raised on Long Island, New York. After attending State University in Albany, he earned his DMD at Tufts University in Boston. He met his wife Melissa in school, and after spending two years back on Long Island, they moved to the suburbs outside of Boston, where they practiced for twenty-two years. After a couple of vacations to the Charleston area, they knew the charm and beauty of the area was calling.
Dr. Sarner is thrilled to be part of the team at Pleasant Family Dentistry. In addition to focusing on caring for his patients, he enjoys dining out, physical fitness, and martial arts. He is looking forward to enjoying the beautiful outdoors that the area has to offer.
Gabrielle Nockowitz, DMD, is a general dentist practicing at Pleasant Family Dentistry in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.
Dr. Nockowitz graduated magna cum laude from the College of Charleston with a Bachelor of Science in biology. Upon graduation, she began her dental education at the College of Dental Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina, where she earned her Doctorate of Dental Medicine. She is an active member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and South Carolina Dental Association.
Dr. Nockowitz's dental training encompasses all aspects of general dentistry. She stays up-to-date on the latest developments in procedures and technology in the dental industry by attending continuing education courses and seminars. Her commitment to lifelong education means she is constantly evaluating developments in dental methods and technology so that she can provide the best comprehensive care to all patients.
Dr. Nockowitz resides in Mt. Pleasant. She enjoys attending Seacoast Church, traveling, and spending time outdoors with her dog Noelle.
Rick Jackowski, DDS, is a general dentist and a vital member of the team at Pleasant Family Dentistry, located in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.
Dr. Jackowski was born in New York City and raised on Long Island. He attended Syracuse University for undergrad (Go Orangemen!) but then realized cold weather was not for him and started looking for a dental school in the south. He attended and graduated from the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond and decided Richmond was still not warm enough. He then visited and fell in love with the charm of the Charleston area.
In 1989 Rick gave away his winter coats and moved to sunny Mount Pleasant, where he opened his practice over 30 years ago. He and his wife, Krissa, have two daughters, Morgan and Kaitlyn. Spending time with his family is on the top of his to-do list, along with traveling to new places, boating, fishing, riding bikes, and reading.
Greg Johnson, DDS, is an experienced general dentist practicing at Pleasant Family Dentistry in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. He considers it a great honor to help improve the smiles and oral health of individuals living in and around Charleston County.
Dr. Johnson is originally a native of Virginia and received his Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry from Virginia Tech in 1985. He then received his Doctorate of Dental Sciences (DDS) from the Medical College of Virginia in 1989, and in that same year moved to Mt. Pleasant to start Pleasant Family Dentistry.
Dr. Johnson resides in Mt. Pleasant with his wife, Vicki, who is a chemical engineer and a native of the Charleston area. Together, they have two daughters, Caroline and Hannah, and a Yorkie named Isabelle.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Johnson enjoys golfing, boating, traveling with family, playing the piano, and watching sports, especially the Virginia Tech Hokies!
