For those of you who might wonder about my accent, I was born in Kaunas, Lithuania to a family with a long tradition in medicine.

I have been dedicated to practicing dentistry since 1972, after graduating from medical school.

I have been interested in oral surgery since beginning my dental career. I completed my specialty training in 1979 at the Moscow Institute of Stomatolgy – the leading post-graduate facility in Eastern Europe.
My experience in dentistry is diverse. While practicing traditional dentistry at one of Moscow’s most elite dental clinics, I also spent countless hours in the head and neck department at the Oncological Center and the department of Trauma of Maxillofacial region at the Central Hospital.

In 1990, I relocated to the United States and settled in South Florida, where I continued to dedicate my time to the local community.

I underwent advanced dental training at the University of Florida. I am a firm believer in continuing education, and spend 100 hours every year in seminars and continuing education courses.

I am eager to continue my work in the dental field and to continue being helpful to the people and the community who have given my family and I the opportunity to live in peace and freedom.

Michael Gertsen, DMD, MS is a compassionate and detail-oriented dentist who offers a complete menu of general, preventative, restorative, and cosmetic services to residents living in the greater Broward County area. During his time in dental school, he was fortunate enough to take part in two medical mission trips to Jamaica.  He continues to be active in the local community as a board member of the Broward County Dental Association.

Dr. Gerard Wasselle, DMD

Gerard Wasselle was born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He graduated from the University of South Florida in 1988 and University of Florida College of Dentistry in 1992. A spirit of adventure lured him to Alaska where he began his private practice. While enjoying many adventures in the Last Frontier, Dr. Wasselle practiced all fields of general, restorative and cosmetic dentistry with a particular passion for oral surgery, dental implants, and full mouth rehabilitation. Dr. Wasselle believes in building strong, lasting patient relationships—he regularly treats several generations of the same families!  Dr. Wasselle and his dental team deliver personal, patient-centered care focused on each patient’s individual needs and goals.
