Karly Lorbeer, MD, is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon practicing at Greater Washington Orthopaedic Group, PA, with locations in Silver Spring, Germantown, and Rockville, Maryland. Born in Argentina, Dr. D'Agostino is certified in Hand Surgery by the Argentine Association for Hand Surgery and Reconstructive Surgery of the upper extremity and in Orthopedic Surgery by the College of Medical Doctors of Santa Fe, Argentina.

Dr. D'Agostino's journey in the field of medicine includes a Hand Surgery senior fellowship at the Christine M Kleinert Institute for Hand and Microsurgery (ACGME accredited). Her postgraduate training in Hand Surgery and Reconstructive Surgery of the upper extremity was conducted through the Argentine Association. Earlier, she pursued her Residency in Orthopedics at the Hospital Provincial de Rosario, Argentina, and later served as a Clinical Instructor in the Orthopedic Department at the University of Colorado.

Dr. D'Agostino has contributed significantly to her field, co-authoring "Tips and Tricks in Orthopedic Trauma: A case-based approach" (2017) and publishing "Tobacco use and neurogenesis: A theoretical review of pathophysiological mechanisms affecting the outcome of peripheral nerve regeneration" in the Journal of Orthopedics (2020). She has also served as an international guest speaker at the Mexican and Caribbean Hand Surgery international meeting in Oaxaca, Mexico (2013).

Fluent in English and Spanish, Dr. D'Agostino is not only dedicated to her medical practice but is also actively involved in community service, including volunteering at the Montessori School of Denver, University of Colorado School of Medicine, Volunteers of America, and Helping Hands of Boca Raton. Her personal interests include yoga, hiking, tennis, and reading. Dr. Laura A. D'Agostino brings a wealth of experience and a commitment to excellence in the field of Hand Surgery, making her a respected figure in both academic and professional circles.

Dr. Mark Ciaglia, DO, at the Woodlands Center for Special Surgery, is a board-certified surgeon and fellowship-trained hand and microsurgeon. With Dr. Ciaglia’s extensive training and experience, everyone living in and around The Woodlands and Willis, Texas, in the greater Houston area, has access to high-quality treatment for injuries, trauma, and degenerative diseases that affect their hand, wrist, and arm.

Dr. Ciaglia grew up in Chicago and stayed close to home when he entered Illinois Wesleyan University. He studied biology and chemistry, graduating with honors, and was accepted to Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

After he completed medical school, Dr. Ciaglia moved to New York City, where he spent five years training in general and trauma surgery in Brooklyn. Although he was well prepared to meet any surgical problem, he wanted to specialize in hand surgery, so he applied to the single hand surgery and microsurgical fellowship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine at Beth Israel in Manhattan.

Out of 135 applicants, Dr. Ciaglia was accepted into the fellowship training and had the honor to train under world-renowned hand surgeon Dr. Charles Melone. During his training, Dr. Ciaglia perfected hand surgery and gained recognition as he spoke at state and national meetings about hand surgery.

With his exceptional qualifications, Dr. Ciaglia can address all upper extremity surgical needs. He lives locally in The Woodlands and looks forward to providing care for his neighbors and those in surrounding communities.
