Mike Vollant D.O. is a fellowship trained Hand and Upper Extremity Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in conditions involving the shoulder, elbow, forearm, wrist, and hand.
Dr. Vollant attended Kent State University where he graduated with Magna Cum Laude honors. He was a member of the Kent State Wrestling Team where he was selected as a member of the Academic All-MAC Wrestling Team in 2015 and 2016.
He then went on to attend medical school in his hometown of Erie, Pennsylvania at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. Following graduation Dr. Vollant moved to Florida for his orthopedic surgery residency at HCA Florida Largo Hospital. He then completed a hand & upper extremity fellowship at the University of Mississippi Medical Center where he received advanced multidisciplinary training under a board-certified orthopedic and plastic surgery faculty.
Dr. Vollant specializes in hand & upper extremity surgery including the full spectrum of upper extremity orthopedic care from the shoulder to fingertip. He specializes in primary and complex upper extremity procedures including arthroscopy, fracture care, arthritis, tendon repair and reconstruction, ligament repair and reconstruction, nerve decompression and repair, microsurgery, and complex reconstructive surgery. Common procedures include carpal tunnel release, cubital tunnel release, trigger finger release, thumb CMC arthroplasty, wrist and shoulder arthroscopy, shoulder arthroplasty, and treatment of upper extremity fractures.
Dr. Vollant is a faculty member of the orthopedic surgery residency program at HCA Florida Largo Hospital and an active member of: American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics (AOAO), American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH), American Association for Hand Surgery (AAHS), and Florida Orthopedic Society (FOS).
Outside of work, Dr. Vollant enjoys spending time with family and friends, along with his dog, Roscoe. He has a real passion for sports, whether it’s playing golf, staying active through weightlifting, following wrestling and soccer, or cheering his favorite Cleveland and Tampa Bay teams.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Williams for several years and as always, my most recent experience exceeded my expectations. It’s hard to imagine how surgery could be a pleasant experience, but under Dr. Williams’ care, I don’t think it could be any better. The staff, Anesthesiologist, assistants, etc are all kind, patient, and professional. I leave without any unanswered questions and with a full understanding of what to expect for next steps. And of course, I can’t forget the kindest finishing touch, being sent off with a beautiful plant/floral arrangement complete with a Get Well card from Dr. Williams himself. Highly recommend.
New procedure for trigger finger was performed by Dr Williams. He was wonderful and so was his assistant. They made me feel comfortable and secure in the procedure!
