Kate Marshall, MD, is an experienced geriatrics physician at Golden Oak Medicine in Asheville, North Carolina. She is double board-certified in internal medicine and geriatric medicine and offers a wide array of expertise caring for patients aged 55 and older.
Dr. Marshall received her medical doctorate from Boston University in Boston, Massachusetts. She completed internal medicine training at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, which consistently ranks in the top 10 nationwide for internal medicine residency programs.
After becoming board-certified in internal medicine, Dr. Marshall completed a fellowship in geriatric medicine at Carolinas HealthCare System Blue Ridge in Morganton, North Carolina. Since completing her fellowship, she has worked in a variety of skilled nursing and acute rehabilitation facilities in several counties in North Carolina.

Dr. Vinayak Kottoor grew up in the Midwest before completing his medical school training in Bangalore, India enjoying the immersive and perspective-broadening cultural experience there as well as a robust hands-on clinical training program. He completed his Internal Medicine and Pediatrics residency training at Saint Louis University Hospital serving an additional year as Chief Resident. Thereafter he was part of the teaching faculty at Johns Hopkins University Hospital, Baltimore in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics prior to moving to the Asheville area in 2014. Apart from his passion for the care of individuals and their families here in Asheville he also spends time each year in medical mission work abroad. He is pleased to call Asheville home with his wife and son and feels fortunate to be a part of the Asheville Medicine and Pediatrics team.

She began her practice with a rural Internal Medicine/Pediatrics group outside Charlottesville, Virginia, while also holding a faculty appointment at UVA Medical Center with the Department of Internal Medicine for 5 years. She moved to Western NC in 2007 to work on the Cherokee Indian Reservation. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics and is excited about the opportunity to join our combined Med-Peds practice here in Asheville.
