He then undertook Senior House Officer training at the University of Cape Town’s Groote Schuur Hospital (famous for the world’s first successful heart transplant). He completed internal medicine training at Columbia University’s St. Luke’s Roosevelt Medical Center in Manhattan, New York, followed by a cardiovascular disease fellowship at the University of Rochester Medical Center in Rochester, New York. He then pursued advanced training in cardiac PET, cardiac CT, cardiac MRI, and vascular imaging at Harvard Medical School’s Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts.

He was previously on faculty in the Departments of Cardiology & Radiology as an assistant professor at Yale New Haven Hospital.
