Mubarak Khawaja, MD, is a board-certified internal medicine physician with training in pulmonary medicine, and has over 30 years of experience in acute and chronic health care management. Dr. Khawaja completed his medical degree at Ross University School of Medicine in Bridgetown, Barbados, in 2012. Dr. Rios received his medical degree (MD) from Saint Louis University in Saint Louis, Missouri, in 2010 with a distinction in research. He completed residency training in internal medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center Houston (UT Health) in Houston, Texas. He then completed an additional year of training in cardiovascular medicine at UT Health. 

During his time at UT Health, Dr. Rios gained invaluable experience with rotations at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, the Texas Heart Institute/Baylor St Luke's  Medical Center, Memorial Hermann Health System, and Harris Health Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital in Houston, Texas.

In 2015, Dr. Rios started practicing as a hospitalist at Baylor St Luke's Medical Center. A quaternary care hospital, he gained additional experience in caring for the most critically ill patients requiring a multi-disciplinary approach to achieve the best outcomes.

In 2018, frustrated with the depersonalized nature of the current healthcare system, Dr. Rios sought to change the healthcare landscape. Tam Truong, MD, is an internal medicine physician at New Wave Physicians Group in Spring, Texas. Dr. Truong completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Texas at Austin. Following this, he attended Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine. He later completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, Arkansas. 

Dr. Truong has 10 years of experience as a hospitalist dealing with acute illnesses in the hospital setting and has now transitioned to outpatient medicine with a focus on chronic illnesses and preventive care. He is excited to have joined Dr. Amie Sun-Wright, his medical school classmate of 2005 at New Wave Physicians Group in Spring, Texas, at the beginning of 2021. 

Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Dr. Truong now resides in The Woodlands, Texas, with his spouse and three children. When he's not helping his patients, he is proud to be a Home Depot Weekend Warrior, but most of all, Dr. Truong loves traveling and spending time with his family.

Timothy Carder, MD, is a board-certified family medicine physician at New Wave Physicians Group in Spring, Texas. Dr. Carder enjoys caring for patients of all ages and medical conditions. 

A native Texan, he was born in Dallas, Texas, and grew up in Bogata, Texas, a rural agricultural community in Northeast Texas. Dr. Carder received his medical degree from Texas A&M Health Science Center in College Station, Texas, and completed his family medicine residency at Texas Tech Health Science Center of the Permian Basin in Odessa, Texas. 

He is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and a member of the Texas Medical Association, American Medical Association, and Harris County Medical Society. 

An advocate in health and wellness, Dr. Carder is an active runner and enjoys participating in various running events, from 5Ks to marathons. He loves animals and has a special place in his heart for his late dog of more than 18 years, Skipper.
