Angelique Richardson, MD, PhD, is a board-certified medical oncologist at her private practice – Angelique E Richardson MD PhD | The Center for Phenomenal Health & Wellness Inc. – located in San Diego, California. She is also a former associate professor at the University of California, San Diego, who specialized in the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. Her research focused on cancer health disparities, specifically examining why survival rates for certain types of breast cancer differ among various groups of women.
In addition to her oncology expertise, Dr. Richardson is also a women’s health specialist dedicated to helping women navigate menopause and perimenopause, with an emphasis on improving quality of life, long-term wellness, and survivorship for women at higher risk or with a history of breast cancer.
Dr. Richardson earned both her medical degree and PhD in microbiology and molecular genetics—with an emphasis in cancer biology—at Loma Linda University School of Medicine in Loma Linda, California. She completed her residency in internal medicine at White Memorial Medical Center in Los Angeles, followed by a hematology/oncology fellowship at Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey, Pennsylvania. She also participated in a clinical breast oncology program at the University of Miami in Florida.
She serves on numerous local and national boards for breast cancer and breast cancer prevention, including the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American College of Physicians, and the National Medical Association. Dr. Richardson also serves the breast cancer community as a member of the Susan G. Komen Leadership Council and National Advisory Board, and as an elected member of the California Breast Cancer Research Council at the University of California.
