Anthony Freire, LMHC, NCC, CCMHC founded The Soho Center for Mental Health Counseling alongside Kelley Hershman, LMHC and Alexander Badillo, JD, LMHC  to better serve their clientele using a team approach. Kathryn received her undergraduate degree with a Psychology major from C.W. Post University. Following graduation she began a career in Behavioral Analysis. After a few years of using behavioral analytical techniques with the Autistic population, she received her Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling at New York University. 
Kathryn believes that each individual has unique experiences that add to the people we become, however, it does not define who we are. Kathryn uses a variety of counseling techniques and interventions to best serve the needs of her clients. 
She specializes in developmental disorders, but has experience with Mood disorders, Psychosis, Obessive Compulsive Disorder, Trauma, and Anxiety disorders. She has a in-depth background working with children, and has experience with teenagers as well as adults.

I graduated with a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Queens College and a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from St. John’s University. During my final year at St. John’s University, I interned at the PAC Program of Queens. During my internship, I worked with clients who struggled with substance abuse, anxiety, anger management and domestic violence.

With a background as a board-certified health and wellness coach, my therapy approach draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solutions Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing, all through a holistic, person-centered philosophy. I am particularly excited to support the LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent communities in their journeys towards optimal functioning and self understanding.

I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Women’s and Gender Studies at the College of Charleston, and am pursuing a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling at Teachers College at Columbia University.
