Her professional background includes working directly with schools, families and communities in a variety of settings including child welfare and attendance, counseling, K-12, administration, clinical mental health, employee assistance services, and counselor preparation/education. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist whose areas of expertise include dropout prevention and intervention, student engagement, bullying, trauma, working with victims of violence, crisis counseling, employee assistance, and school-based family counseling. A leader in the field, Dr. Hernandez brings a unique perspective to working with educators and school systems to enhance access to mental health services.
