I graduated from Pepperdine University with a master's in clinical psychology, focusing on marriage and family therapy, but my approach goes beyond the textbook. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) because these methods are proven to create real, lasting changes. That said, I also pull from other approaches depending on what fits best for you.

I’m Elizabeth ("Ella") DeGroot, an AMFT based in Newport Beach, California. I earned my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Southern California, where I focused on culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, attachment-based work. I have experience supporting adults and adolescents navigating anxiety, depression, identity exploration, spiritual or belief transitions, grief, and relational challenges.
