Dr. Johnson practices within the full ability of his scope, utilizing minor office procedures, pharmaceutical medication, diet/lifestyle, and supplementation to help his patients. He is passionate about primary care and is happy to refer to outside specialists when needed. Other focuses include but are not limited to diabetes, hypertension, IBS/IBD, and anxiety/depression. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Washington in Seattle prior to earning his Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine (ND) at The National University of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon. His medical education included completion of a 3 year post-graduate residency. He is an avid northwest sports fan and enjoys spending time with his wife and dog.

Dr. Kirt Tyson, N.M.D. is board certified in Naturopathic Family Medicine and Pain Management. Dr. Tyson graduated from Morehouse College with a degree of Bachelors of Science in Biology. He later went on to earn his Naturopathic Medical Doctorate from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in Tempe, AZ. After completing medical school he obtained additional knowledge and received a certificate in Plant Based Nutrition from the T. Collin Campbell Foundation at Cornell University. Dr. Tyson post doctorate training also includes anti-aging and regenerative medicine, men’s health and interventional pain management. He is pleased to share his knowledge and experience as the men’s health doctor at our Washington, D.C. clinic.
Dr. Nicole Malapit was born and raised in Hawaii, where she grew up helping in her family’s retail and clinical pharmacies. It was during this time that she developed an early appreciation for the value of medicine and the importance of community-centered care.
She provides comprehensive primary care with particular interests in digestive health, cardiometabolic conditions, allergies, and endocrine disorders.
Before earning her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University, Dr. Malapit built a strong foundation in hands-on healing as a licensed massage therapist. She also holds certifications in biofeedback, craniosacral therapy, and mind-body medicine.
Guided by the naturopathic principle tolle totum—treat the whole person—Dr. Malapit’s approach is rooted in compassion and a deep respect for where each patient is on their healthcare journey.

Jake Schmutz, NMD, is a naturopathic medical doctor at Integrative Medica in Salt Lake City, Utah. Dr. Schmutz specializes in combining conventional and alternative medicine for pain management, autoimmune diseases, irritable bowel syndrome, and chronic disease. Dr. Schmutz is passionate about helping patients overcome disease and achieve optimum health and well-being.
Dr. Schmutz earned his bachelor’s degree at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, where he discovered his interest in integrative medicine. He then completed medical school at Bastyr University in Kenmore, Washington, one of the few medical schools in the country offering specialized training in conventional and alternative medicine.
Throughout his naturopathic medical training, Dr. Schmutz learned how to stimulate the innate healing mechanisms of the human body and uncover the underlying cause of disease. His medical training includes medical nutrition, diet and lifestyle modification, botanical medicine, hydrotherapy, and osseous and soft tissue manipulation. He also received extensive training in diagnostics, pharmacology, and minor surgery, as well as post-doctoral training in IV nutrient therapy, visceral manipulation, and neurocranial restructuring.
When he’s not at the practice, Dr. Schmutz enjoys spending time with his wife and their four children at their home in Alpine, Utah.
Throughout my time in practice, I have helped many patients overcome their bothersome symptoms and chronic health conditions by addressing the root cause: inflammation, infections, allergies, nutritional deficiencies, hormonal imbalances, and/or issues with detoxification.
I take a lot of pride in being a conscientious provider that you can trust will listen, understand, and encourage you along your health journey. My main focus is to help you deliberate your options, and equip you with the tools you will need to attain your health goals.
